WHAT'S UP? after getting fired from your boring, underpaying retail job, your friends tell you that the restaurant they work at is hiring. fresh orange grill is a nice sports bar downtown and the pay is nice, so you take them up on their offer. after an embarrassing interaction with your cute coworker on your first day, you thought you’d never get a chance with him. fortunately for you, he had been harboring the same feelings for you shortly after that fateful day.

“home is where i’m wrapped in your arms”
the first time you had ever met beomgyu was in second grade. your family had just relocated to a new city, and your mother said something about a chance to start over. of course, a new city meant a new school, new friends, new everything. you weren't very fond of this thought, considering it was the first day you would enter your new school, however you were clinging onto your mother while crying, mumbling something about how ‘you didn’t want to go to a scary new place.’ after some coaxing, she was able to peel you off of her, and ease your tears, finally gaining some courage to enter your new class room. for how scary everything seemed, you made it through class just fine, for the most part. recess came around, and you hadn’t made any new friends yet, leaving you alone on the swing-set. feeling tears well-up in your eyes as everything was still so new. before your tears could fully fall, you heard the swing next to you rustle, “are you okay?” hearing the sudden question, you looked up to see a boy, you recognized him from your class. nodding your head in a ‘yes’ motion, after deciding that you were in fact okay. it was silent for a few minutes after that, only the sound of both of your feet against the mulch, and the sound of other kids playing. looking over, you saw the boy fiddling with the hem of his shirt, while kicking mulch ever so slightly. he seemed like he wanted to say something. “im beomgyu, do you wanna be friends?” your mood instantly picked up, answering him with a smile “sure, im y/n!” that was the first day of many for you and beomgyu.
you didn’t realize your feelings for beomgyu until the summer before 10th grade, the two of you were still closer than ever. although, beomgyu had gotten taller, now towering over you, which was something that made your heart flutter. his features had also gotten sharper, and his voice deepened ever so slightly. it didn’t take you long to figure out how much your feelings for beomgyu had changed, but once you did, your feelings were in full swing. beomgyu had also had a change of feelings, thanks to you. he’d be lying if he didn’t notice how much prettier you had gotten, although he has always thought you were pretty. the way you looked in the sunlight, your eyes shining ten times brighter, the way your lashes fluttered when you laughed, the way your voice sounded like honey and always seemed to melt him, and most importantly, the way you looked at him, like he was the center of your whole universe. he was completely in love with you.
though the two of you were absolutely smitten with each other, you spent the next year tiptoeing on the line between friends and lovers, wondering who would cross it first. it was beomgyu of course. the two of you were laying on his bed, side by side, pinkies intertwined, the gesture, though small, had your heartbeat reverberating off the inside of your mind. you had felt him turn towards you, turning your head, you let out a small “hmm?” he paused for a minute before asking, “can i kiss you?” feeling your cheeks heat up, you nodded in agreement, allowing him to proceed. feeling his lips land on yours, your first thought was ‘choi beomgyu has really soft lips’, the sweet moment interrupted by the clinking from your teeth hitting his, it was your(and his) first kiss after all. beomgyu pulled away, the two of you holding eye contact for a while, before both of you erupted in a sweet laughter.
this led you to where you were now, you and beomgyu were curled up together on the couch in your shared apartment with a cliche romance drama playing, though you weren’t paying much attention to it. you opted to nuzzle your face into his hoodie, relishing in his warmth and comfort, fully allowing it to consume you whole. relaxing into him, you let out a contented sigh, feeling beomgyu stir next to you, you slightly lifted your head. “everything okay baby?” he asked, a concerned look on his face. you nodded, your hands making their way to his face, one on each side, holding it as if he were the most fragile thing in the world. leaning forward, your cheeks brushed against his, connecting your eyelashes to his, and fluttering them softly. beomgyu had always loved butterfly kisses, they were such a pure form of affection, which only made him fall more and more in love with you. you had felt him let out a small laugh under you, making your heart do cartwheels in your chest. pulling back, only to press a chaste kiss on the tip of his nose. looking into your eyes, his own full of pure adoration for you, a small smile found itself resting on his face, “what was that for?” he asked in a teasing tone, his arms wrapping around your waist and pulling you closer to him. “because i love you so much gyu,” you replied, allowing yourself to rest back on top of him. it was true, you were absolutely in love with beomgyu, every little gesture made your heart flutter, he always made you feel so loved. letting out a small yawn, you felt yourself drifting to sleep in his arms, wishing you could pause time and live in this moment forever. one last thought crossed your mind before you surrendered to sleep, you knew that beomgyu would be your forever, wishing to always drift off in his embrace.
