How long have I been asleep for?
An ode to tumblr...
I never really got to say goodbye to this blog. I kinda sorta just stopped posting. I don’t think I updated in 4 years. So what tumblr didn’t see is how much I’ve grown up. This blog represents my teenage and early 20′s years. I was partying, drinking, drugs, eating like shit, and not giving a shit. And I’m glad I went through that. Because I see people my age who are still going through that. I got that out my system. Thank God. I find this website to be more for teenagers. Is tumblr still even ‘cool’? *laughing face emoji* I didn’t think anyone still had this thing! I actually don’t know anyone who actively posts on here anymore and I guess everyone went through their phase!
So dear tumblr... this is what’s been going on...
My school grades are incredible. I’ve gotten a degree as a surgical tech. I’ve done over 100+ surgeries (heart, neuro, ortho, general, you name it!) and saved lives for 2 years. It was like a real life Grey’s Anatomy, but no hook ups! We don’t have time for that, especially if you’re on the trauma team! I’ve worked with some of the nation’s top doctors. And now I’m finishing another degree in health systems management and public health. And in the future, I will complete my masters in health administration. I finally got to go to a big university that I always want to. I’m so blessed to be able to learn the clinical side and the business side of healthcare.
I finally found my soulmate. This is the best and most stable relationship I have ever had. We moved in together, we love together, and laugh together. We’re planning a future together and I thank God everyday that I finally found the one! (When you know, you know). I finally found my person. Someone who is supportive all around. And no bullshit too. I trust him with all my heart and vice versa. We don’t keep secrets because we don’t have any. Plus my family loves him too. Him and my dad are bestfriends, lol (I mean they relate to a lot of things especially working for the bank). He’s so much fun, caring, handsome, I can go on, But I won’t! It’ll be too mushy.
Work is amazing. I have never worked for a company that cares about you so much. My co-workers are amazing and look after for you. This goes with my friends as well. I’ve never met a great group of girls are genuinely care for you.
My aspect on religion has helped me shape the woman I am today. I more in touch with my faith than I have ever been. I’m glad I am able to share this with my boyfriend. I am still a practicing Catholic, thanks to my mom. But I have also been going to Elevation, thanks to my step mom. These ladies have no idea how much they have helped me get in touch with my faith. Without God, I won’t be here. Without God, I won’t have my head on straight. Without God, I won’t have the goals I want to achieve. and Without God, I won’t be reaching these goals.
One last thing is my dad. He has seen me grow up so much. And now that I don’t live with him, he always wants to come over and hang out. Which I don’t mind (he always brings food). Our relationship is stronger than ever.
Also all the little things in life... like paying my car off and trying to get a second car. Or buying a lot of Louis Vuitton (my mom was bougie, so I am too). Adding more to my Yeezy collection. My boyfriend’s Gucci obsession. I know it’s not about material things, but these things show how hard we work for them. We travel when we can, we travel a lot. We have so many things planned. And whenever we plan it, we always do it! (Like my birthday Disney trip!)
So tumblr, I think I’m done here. Will I come back? Maybe. I might post another update, maybe when I have kids (haha). But at the same time. I’m closing the door on this blog. So thank you tumblr, for being an outlet for my thoughts, my emotions and my life.
