So there’s this seal rehabilitation center I like to watch the livestream of from time to time. This morning was pool cleaning day, the day they weigh the rescue seals and photograph them to keep track of their rehabilitation progress as a sudden change in weight is a serious health indicator among other things. The box helps keep them on the scale as, otherwise, you cannot weigh bouncy boys.

This seal was having NONE OF IT. One of the workers was attempting to get the seal to turn so they could get a photo of its side. (They are not hitting the seal, at most she is giving him a little shove in the direction it needs to turn.) HE DID NOT LIKE BEING TOUCHED WITH THE SQUEEGEE.

He did NOT like his photo being taken!

As soon as they took the box to weigh one of the other seals HE STOLE THE FRIGGIN’ SQUEEGEE!!!

mika is wildly popular in europe but his north american fanbase is like, six people and a napkin, and it’s killing me. 

ALSO, he came out as bisexual/‘not interested in labels’ like a decade ago, but much more recently he came out as gay, so he’s gay! his latest album, No Place In Heaven, is almost completely about being gay. it’s got a song abt his sexuality and his religion, a song abt pining for your straight best friend, a song abt the music world that includes the lyrics “where have all the gay guys gone?”, a song abt gay and lesbian solidarity, a song abt heterosexual expectations from family, and two songs that are just abt being super ridiculously in love w your partner.

please listen to Mika’s entire discography because there are a LOT of classics that i’m 100% sure you’ve heard at some point in your life, all the love songs are implicitly gay, it’s great, but ESPECIALLY listen to No Place In Heaven (2015).

I know I said before that terfs can step the fuck off, but if you jive with this idea that shota/loli is a positive outlet for pedophiles because it’s ‘just fantasy’, you can also step off and kindly burn the bridge behind you.

Also if you compare being trans to being a pedophile that’s a whole other realm of exceptionally fucked up and doing that evokes the specter of horrible old ideas that gay men and trans women in particular are predatory towards children, and you need to not do that.

After finding the full logs on Twitter and digging through, it’s still a fucking hot mess.  The trans comments were in relation to the admin asking clarifying questions.

Earlier on in the conversation, her stance is that being trans isn’t a mental disorder.

That said, trans folks are only brought up to start with because she believes being a pedophile is also not a mental disorder and equated it to how being trans also not a mental disorder. 😬

So still not great. I think at best, she’s incredibly misinformed about the nature of pedophilia vs being transgender. I still yeeted myself as I don’t really want to hang in a Discord where admins compare trans folks and pedophiles.  There were also plenty of other folks saying far worse shit that made me realise I am pretty okay not being there. I just felt like knowing the full context of everything is important when yeeting oneself.
