“Why are you opening your bottle all weird, Egon?” “Last time I went on a jog Peter thought it would be funny to replace my regular water with carbonated water. It’s not bubbling, so it would be logical to assume it’s not carbonated. But knowing Peter it doesn’t hurt to be careful…” “Well if you want some of mine, just ask! You know, Winston was right. Putting it in the freezer before jogging really does the trick!” = = = = = I originally sketched this almost two years ago and decided to clean it up and color lol. If you’re ever wondering how Egon was able to get up the stairs so fast in When Halloween Was Forever it’s because Janine and he jog every other day together.

It’s interesting that Egon and Janine are working late in the firehouse before Vinz shows up.

They are working alone… together.

During the Vinz Clortho encounter:

—We know that Peter is going to see Dana around 9pm, per his suggestion after her rehearsal. Louis’s party is already in full swing by the time Peter arrives at the apartment building.

—According to the Ghostbusters official novelization, Winston and Ray spend the night at Fort Detmerring. In the film, we see this as part of Ray’s dream sequence with the floating ghost. We also see Winston and Ray driving alone at night.

This establishes that Egon and Janine are working alone together well into the evening. Sure, Egon lives in the firehouse. But why would the secretary still be there?? Especially since the neighborhood is not very nice—is Janine going to take the subway home alone or try to hail a cab late at night by herself??

Or was she just planning to spend the night? Hmmm.

Also, deleted scenes make it clear that this wasn’t the first time that they’re burning the midnight oil together.

Ohh I yearn for IDW janegon like Gatsby yearns for that green light across the lake its not even funny.

I semi took inspo from a older fic I read on ao3 when it was Mass Hysteria and it was Winston's wedding, and they were dancing and yearning and ugh it was such a good fic I wanted to draw something similar to it.

like Peter will tease and tease janine abt roger and what nots but like okay where ARE we going with it. I genuinely hate how we get snippets of people talking about it rather than janine and egon actually talking and interacting with one another about anythingggg. Sighhhhh i have complex feelings. They make me angry.

Like I get why they made Roger in the comics but he just feels useless to me bc they didnt go ANYWHEREEE with it, like
