Welcome to #aertiweek2020! Please join us again for another week-long celebration of the relationship between Aerith Gainsborough and Tifa Lockhart, the joint heroines of Final Fantasy VII.

Prompts! Each day of #aertiweek2020 will have multiple unique prompts that fans can interpret through gifsets, graphics/edits, fanfic, fanart, fanvids, headcanons, meta/analysis, playlists, or any other original content! And if none of our prompts appeal to you, that’s fine too! Anything you create to celebrate Aerti is more than welcome!

Finally, Beautiful Stranger (Chapter 1) - Aerti Week Day 7

(( a bit late for the final contribution to @aertiweek, but my hand slipped and this final prompt has yet again turned into A Thing. but not to worry - I’m hoping to update this daily/every other day, depending on how life pans out. so stay tuned and enjoy some modern day florist/bartender AU meetcute goodness! ))

She never noticed the building was occupied until the flowers appeared in the window. The regulars at Seventh Heaven made mention of someone showing interest in the abandoned place, but she dismissed their drunken ramblings. Nibelheim was a small town; everyone knew each other and few popped in as passing strangers en route to grander tourist traps, let alone settle down as a neighbor. And yet she walked by the place next to her tavern daily, oblivious to the gradual refurbishments and lack of dust.

Until the flowers, of course.

Tifa slowed her steps and paused in front of the window. White lilies overflowed from a vase, purer than the snow in the mountains. Tifa leaned closer, wishing she could inhale whatever crisp scent they held. I’ve never seen lilies that white before, she mused. They’re gorgeous.

Then someone from inside approached the window and added more flowers to the display. An assortment of tulips and orchids, but it was the woman handling them that captured Tifa.

Did Aeris Gainsborough like her? Tifa could not be entirely sure. This despite the multiple bunches of flowers Aeris sent, all the time they spent together. But somehow Tifa could not believe Aeris felt attracted to her. The latest of their meet-ups at Tifa’s apartment somehow kept on going and going until it was late. Until it made sense to be polite and offer her a bed for the night. Aeris cautioned Tifa she preferred to sleep naked; each to their own. The penny finally dropped when - half an hour later - Aeris informed Tifa she was too cold.

Aertiweek Day 7

A young Cloud and Tifa met a woman on Nibelheim. She is carrying a young girl about their age.

She was sure she heard a sound, but she wasn’t scared, she was just hugging Cloud back because, just, reasons. It could be her father, he would be angry she just wandered off on her own… but she wanted to be alone for some time, mum just passed away…

“I’ll- protect you, don’t worry!” But Cloud was just a bit less scared than her.

“You think it’s a monster?”

A figure approached, it was just a woman. She was holding a girl their age, and spotted them when she walked closer. She seemed unwell.

The kids nervously waited a few moments, visitors were not common in Nibelheim.

“Uh, oh, hello miss, you okay?” Tifa tried. The woman tried to speak, but coughed instead.

Stealing Kisses From Your Missus - Aerti Week Day 6

(( another fic for @aertiweek ! tried to incorporate all the prompts, especially gorgonize. petrify sucks in combat, but having a cute girl around to help out makes it worthwhile ))

“Tifa! Hey, wait up!”

Aerith tripped over exposed roots, but regained balance. Thick, tangled branches blocked her path as she marched through the jungle. Glancing over her shoulder, Gongaga shrank in the distance. She didn’t wish to stray too far, but she also didn’t expect Tifa to walk off after they stumbled upon Zack’s home.

Part of Aerith was curious as to how Tifa knew him and what spooked her enough to warrant a solo trek into the jungle. To clear her mind, or so she claimed before heading off. The rest of Aerith—the vast majority—was worried a monster would find her. No doubt Tifa could handle herself, but the new territory brought foreign dangers. Who knew if they were properly equipped for such battles?

Pushing away vines in the densely packed path, Aerith swore she caught sight of Tifa’s red boots. She smiled at the small victory and broke into a jog. “Tifa! There you—”

A roar ripped through the arid air as Aerith entered the clearing. Tifa gasped and raised her fists, flinching as Aerith approached her.

“Hey, it’s just me,” she said, brandishing her staff.

Tifa briefly lowered her guard. “What are you doing out here?”

“I wanted to check on you, of course!”
