âOf course. Iâll get that for you right away,â Eloise said with a nod, taking a closer look at Aesirâs face. In response to what the prince said next, Eloise glanced down at the floor. âI know you didnât mean that,â she replied, looking back up. âYouâre alive and well, and thatâs the important thing.â Briefly leaving the room, Eloise returned with ice and handed the bag of it to Aesir. âKeep that on for twenty minutes, s'il vous plaĂźt.âÂ
Like a child, Aesir sat silently and patiently for Eloise to return, unmoving in his chair before she returned with the ice pack. He followed her instructions, pressing it firmly to the mark on his face with a nod. âOui madam.â He responded softly in French, his eyes lifting to look up at her. After a few moments of silence, he decided to fill the space with a conversation. âAre you as mad at me for my proposal to Claudia as Teddy is?â
