I almost turn around, and run back to you. I almost jump to the edge and fall in love with you. I almost unlock the door and let you in. Once more. But I never did. I never let you hold my heart again.

It truly does hurt me deeply to admit that I know the world does not care about us. Slavery, war, the holocaust. Trees are dying, people are being sold, children are crying and the fabric of human decency is burning at the edges, getting smaller and smaller as the clocks tick on, like a bar of soap after each hand is washed. I look back at a time when I believed that the cosmonautic universe was interested in the well being of the souls that inhabit it. That is work only for the Gods and our God. Astrological beings look down upon us for entertainment while we look up to Him for guidance, even though we all know that the answer to our uncertainties lie within us. Somewhere deep within our subconscious lies the potential to discover all human knowledge. All twenty wonders of the world, not just the seven that we have laid eyes on. If this is true then why do we look to a divine force to help us explore? Maybe the idea of faith is a sheer illusion. An excuse to find hope in something that is not us, just because we are too scared to rely on ourselves. But back to the question at hand. Why do we believe that the world cares about us. The world is a floating ball of dying Earth and water and air and fire. It is science that we have applied meaning to in an attempt to make us seem more significant than we are. The universe is about 46 billion light years long. Those that work with space like to put dimensions on our existence but don’t truly understand the meaning of those numbers nor do they appreciate the value of their explorations. What’s greater: A scientific artist or an artistic scientist? The world is huge, the universe is even bigger. The cosmos do not care about human affairs and we don’t the have courage or the self worth to explore our inner psychics. So what do we do? Better yet, what do we need to do? We need to care about each other. We need to take time out of our day to listen to one another. Dress in style. Wear a smile. Speak, shout, scream at the clouds. Catch snowflakes on your tongue and dance in the rain. Make babies laugh and yell compliments to people going down the street. Paint the sky on a canvas with more colors than just blue. Take Polaroid pictures of real life and blast music with the windows down. Think about the troubles around the world. Challenge ourselves to solve problems and get every answer. Go to park with someone you love and feel the sun on your face. Start conversations with words that you mean and get in touch with humanity. Because underneath all the clothes the makeup and stress and the reputations, we are nothing but humans with souls we have yet to explore and minds we have yet to take full advantage of. There are so many trees to plant.
