Sometimes while reading 1 Nephi its so obvious that he's a teenager. "My brothers are already mad so I'm going to ask them why I'm having to set an example for them and tell them they're not listening to the Lord but I am." like yeah you're right but also. Not the time 😭

Imagine already being pissed off that your dad dragged you out to the wilderness and now your little brother is telling you he's better than you and you should be like him. Not saying I'd tie him up and the woods and leave him to be eaten by beasts but I think that would piss me off too.

Then when Nephi escapes he finds them and lectures them again. Ishmael's wife and two of her kids had to stop Laman and Lemuel from killing Nephi again. Not trying to victim blame but why were you poking those bears 😭 they just tried to kill you. Maybe let them calm down before you talk to them again.

recently i went to a rodeo and i happened to spot two missionary pairs (two sisters and two elders) and i went up to the sisters and asked if this is what they expected to happen on their mission and the one who was still processing her new environment said not at all and i think about those people alot
