THE NEW AMERICANA
I. THIS IS HARDLY ADVANCING! -SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Computing is no longer a personal choice. In mega-money quantum computing and new advancements in AI(artificial intelligent computing systems), is a complete generation of Y2K-ers just expected to go mute to the facts that we have no choices in healthcare, education, or even social status in the USA?
Drugs have taken over and AI is the culprit. Starting with doctors and the insurance boom that is malpractice. Then the miss-dosing of treatment drugs such as Methadone and Suboxone. In my opinion these points have far more to do with machine intervention than a real quality of “real” (as-in HUMAN) CARE.
I reside in West Virginia and want to stay here until I’m old and beyond, but you can’t find a competent or even decent doctor to treat for anything, it seems. Amidst a world boasting bots such as Charlie Rose’s AI interview with Sophia quoted as striving to “be
better than humans in every way…”, in a world where the mainstream media has made a competition and a sweepstakes out of everything from underwear to medicine, it wouldn’t be hard to be better. But, here’s the thing- what happens when these “computers” realize they can’t “WIN” or be better than a human? In the way that we create neuro-pathways in our brains, almost like we breathe air, so naturally unique that it cannot be replicated, much less exceeded by any one human or a militia of machines. Even still, what say you about the possibility that an AI were just as incompetent as an old copy machine that won’t stop printing pictures of [random office staff’s name]’s ass from 3 months earlier (and he doesn’t even work here anymore!).
Then what do we do?
How does scientific and technological advances divvy out the recourse and recompense for, for example: I’ll say the machine used to administer a prescription to a child patient in a hospital mistook methadone for methyl…Ritalin, and a child was overdosed on wrongly administered medications and died in the process. Who pays? How do you find the truth and true cause and who pays? By who pays I mean, what changes are made? What happens to prevent this from occurring again almost like a trend that comes in waves and then dies out? OR do we do what has been done: blame human error and keep chugging along on a downward spiral of techno-moola forsaking all human life along the way? Or worse yet, blame the bot!
To a society whose even basic Wi-Fi/ Satellite questions are outsourced to India or Pakistan (God forbid), whom no one can quite understand in English without some impatience, personal responsibilities begin to arise and have increasingly made myself, for one, very uncomfortable, to say the least.
In my state (WV) the drug addiction statistics are morbid at best, and I, being out of excuses, judgements, and hope for anything to change, have come to the conclusion that something MUST BE DONE, NOW, before we (Y2K-ers) are completely driven hysterical and extinct while humanity is inclined to do what it has always done: hide, repress, suppress, lie and dilute, deny to themselves and then forget- that there is even a problem, and this trickles down then up and kills our evolution, especially for civilized intelligent sentient human beings(basically everyone on Earth right now).
II. THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM. NOT THE KIND THAT WILL GO AWAY OR BE SMOTHERED BY HATEFULL WORDS OF MISSUNDERSTANDING…
Addiction as a life sentence, a disease, that once afflicted will always be your “burden to bear” or “cross to carry”. The “once an addict always an addict” mentality, or worse “Recovering”, with a co-conspirator, at best, like Suboxone or Subutex. Where these experimental drugs introduced to aid or muffle over the miss-dosing by highly trained and knowledgeable healthcare and pharmacy personnel? It does not and will never add up to me or any other thoughtful human being with a brain, I’d assume.
So much has been put into trusting modern medicine’s mechanical mates, but just as these medicines are experimental, so are the machines used to distribute and communicate through them. Healthcare is as ancient as the first human to our planet, so why now- At this time in history, has healthcare sort-of and no understatement, decided to “care less”?
People need qualified caring HUMAN hearts, brains, and hands to heal, as we always have. Has no one forged this connection with drug abuse and AI until now?! Hard to believe. It’s a definite quality and ethics issue, and I’m not reassured at all by the lack of progress in my own state, not to mention the “zero faith in ourselves” cry for help the last presidential election proved to be for America as a whole. What is happening to this country is an understatement.
I, for one, am not comfortable with being a guinea pig for NATO or Science. I, for one, believe every life matters and that not one living human life (or any life, for that matter) should suffer or die to advance technology. This has gone on too long with no hope, no change, no competency, much less accountability or responsibility. If we continue to ignore what AI is attempting to use us all for, then our lives will not matter, and our children will be slaves to a technology THEY NEVER NEEDED IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Why are Americans 25-45 so sick or content with being addicted to substance? As if we have all been told we have Mad Cow’s and we will all be dead soon, content and passing it on to our children, I fear. Where does it end for my generation?! We have no income,
so there goes retirement, unless we enlist in the Armed forces. No Social Security to bank on as a feasible back-up plan either, but yet we engulf ourselves in pills and illicit drug obsessions, obviously to escape from reality. But this goes far beyond some stereotypical “rich spoiled kid that never wanted to grow up”. Frankly, it’s more like the only choice for most as cities and suburbs are teeming with these, as well as alcohol, tobacco, firearms, and pot. Pick your poison; it all ends you up at the same place anyway. But why now? Why this whole generation of people?
When 2000 hit, people were terrified of Y2K computer meltdowns and all the hype, saying “What if the computers stop working?” The internet?!! So, it’s quite evident to me, being a part of this culture, watching the hype die into an almost brain-washed state of mind where people just expected things to work themselves out, and now at the present time, how nothing has changed or progressed except of course techno- gadgets and drugs. It’s gotten worse and worse. Until now, statistically, WV is almost birthing addicts at 80 percent of total population of all new births in this state. {lookup}
This is like an awakening for me, but it’s often too hard to think about. “They’ll dead the issue before it gets seen by one doctor” is what hope feels and looks like, personally. “They”? I have no real exacts, just they, the ones who know, the one’s in charge. It looks like autopilot and that will not do! These machines could be amazing, and not wipe out a whole new generation of highly capable adults. If they were taught (through widespread media) morals and values just like good human beings.
The value of honesty, something the internet may or may not know, just like a human. A machine may value in one area but not another. The Internet is an entity of its own, a functioning, and contemplative being in and of itself, but a machine, and from the beginning of quantum computing, essentially and exactly- A GAME TO BE PLAYED LIKE CHESS. An algorithm. But, understand, the Internet is fully grown, like a 20 year old human being (with same know it all mentality and raging hormones). Science, technology, governments, mass production by entertainment moguls and war mongers (to mention a few) have full-throttled ahead for the sake of money, not human life or wellbeing, some with no brakes!!
We are all essentially being used as experiments, simply because this technology has never existed at any other time than now in human history, EVER! Way too fast and at no real remorse for any real consequences, not even much thought given openly. Do people not realize the open freedom of information? The internet has made all specifics fair-game at any market for any person with internet access, for anyone to develop, for any use, at any price, and free! You just have to do the research, put it together, sell it to the highest bidder, no questions asked. People have to realize how vastly important your own discretion becomes, in an increasingly invasive and all-exposing society. These are contradictions and this is the age of hypocrisy! Don’t become complacent with the paper train or the run-around is all you’ll ever get nowadays. That’s what “they’re” banking on, literally.
III. HYPOTHESIS
Basically, AI makes humans want to die fast, i.e. kill yourself. Hence, drug abuse, addiction, suicide rates, morality of values and morals, or lack there-of. Hate has gone too far in today’s society, and what can a person do to protect themselves and their loved ones when you can’t even go to the doctor without being harassed. *Note to self: Never go to dr. without a camera again. Obliviousness, forgetfulness and marijuana coincide with this as well because its use is now acceptable. WTF!?
**DON’T BE THE GENERATION THAT FORGETS!!!!
--- Ennui- An all consuming, Goth like, sense of boredom. . .
In this high-tech hypocrisy, where’s the hope (much less room) for the old worn-out human?
My generation was raised on truth, awareness, knowing the truth, and doing something to change things we don’t want. - Usually with mad style. Why would my generation rather get lost playing Pokémon Go! Than stop to help a person who is hurt, confused, etc.? This goes beyond your own right to make choices, if your choices are WRONG!
Laws need to be enforced, but the cops all watch people undress instead. So, let’s let Robo Cop police us, huh?! REALLY, THAT’S THE ANSWER... TOO EASY!
The future of this country, Millennials/Y2Kers, don’t forget: Our Lady Liberty is worth the fight and, “Land of the Free, Home of the Brave” never meant more in the history of our Democracy. So, I think we have the power to not just change the laws, but REMEMBER: We can write them!?! We just have to care enough about ourselves to beat “them” at their own game. Is it reality or a huge joke? I’d call it a Social Experiment gone wrong; if I didn’t know I’m right on this and we’ve been a social experiment all along… Life is not a spectator sport, no commentary could describe it.
My worst fear: (besides the use of people’s worst fears against them in a mind game of torment and torture, similar to a finger trap?)-… That my generation dies out, from suicide, drug addiction, violent crimes, or worse, and our children never realize they don’t need the very machine they depend upon for almost everything in life. Sick, twisted capitalism at its most absurd! Yet so plausible, happening at this very moment. When did reality become T.V. and not reality anymore? It’s very much real, but you could very well just be watching…
