they keep using the excuse of "reclamation" but do these fucking idiots not realize that slurs were "reclaimed" back in the day as an act of protest to show that homophobic slurs impact real human beings? and even in actual reclamation, like "dyke march" and "dykes on bikes", these were specific groups of lesbians referring to themselves.

and here's the thing. gays and lesbians used homophobic slurs as a rallying call of solidarity. you see this a LOT in 70s/80s activism. but they weren't just out here calling each other those things for no reason.

now, it seems like people use these slurs for tokenization purposes. they don't understand the struggle, they aren't fighting homophobia, they just wanna say a fucking slur that isn't for them, but they know they would get their fucking ass beat if they said racial slurs, so homophobic slurs are the next best thing. they do this a LOT with their lesbian friends, because they know gay men wouldn't put up with that shit.

and this is what the "q*eer community" is ACTUALLY good for: putting everyone under a single umbrella so straight people can co-opt the homosexual experience while being insanely homophobic, but it's okaaaaaay because we're all part of the same group. like siblinghood of the traveling slurs, or perhaps a homophobia hotpot 😍
