It's crazy watching a baby turn into a toddler. A once so reliable on you little bundle of supply in constant poop & in return constant feeding, molds into a young lady. She prances around the house, sings, dances.. she has opinions & she knows when she's feeling "mad" (in her words) I remember when we were in one room, surviving off WIC & ramen. Now we're here, in our own backyard, blowing bubbles around her little pool. I'm so proud of us, Juliette. Your Mommy's pride & joy. I love you, pretty girl.

A lot of people are looking for finished-product-partners. I never saw the fun in that. Jermz, I've loved every version of you & all the different stages I've seen you go through. And I've seen about 4 or 5. You mold so well to the years & like seasons, I've seen you bloom through your beautiful self-discipline. No one has impressed me to such degree or could make me laugh the way you do. Your soul is so pure & I can feel the real you every time you pour yourself into something. I love getting to know "the self" of people, but I love getting to hang out with yours. I don't mind how close we are, how we stick together through-out the day & night. No body knows how truly creative you are; behind the birthmark is a boy who has a lot of power & character. Who's funny as hell.. and soft-spoken. I'm now in the front row— some years in the second, the back, even the nose-bleeder seats. I'm watching an empowerment completely all it's own. A growing, young man so full of Christ, humility, self-love, selflessness, patience, kindness. I thank God for you every night & every morning. Three months, for the third time on the 2nd. 🚪🌌

Day 4- adventure day. Since the battle was all said & done, & it was Sunday, we got to explore. The morning calls from my daughter always hyped me up. We are at Pine state biscuits for brunch. Bea & I had some muuuuch needed catching up to do. Then we hit downtown, just the two of us, to try voodoo doughnuts. We waited in line for 45 minutes for 1 single doughnut, barely giving us time to eat it before heading back to the car, before time for parking ran out. I got the "old dirty bastard" & it was the best doughnut I ever had in my life. 😂 then we went to Powell's bookstore (the same store as day 1, just the downtown location) & I found a new vice. It is WAAAAY better than Barnes & Noble. I even applied there to take my chances, that's how in love I was. This bookstore was a block wide & 3 floors full. We walked across the street where I almost blew hella money on used boutique clothes & shoes. Put it all down & bit my tongue, walked to the car & from there I got dropped off for our video shoot with a few other people. Was really wishing Hans could make it thru, but he responded too late 😒 after shooting in some seriously freezing conditions, I walked under the bridge where there was some kind of car meet towards this authentic taco truck. I ordered me some pulled pork & veggie because you know, I had to. While waiting, the sounds of car engines revved up & loud laughter echoed throughout this, what felt like, underground scene. It was dope. Music in the distance, & ready to sleep, we drove off ready to get to bed. Very full day indeed.

Day 3- the battle. Roots before Leaves was awesome. Something is in the water here man. So we started the day off with Pho & boba because it was viet new year & low & behold I was staying with true viets. (Grateful for that by the way, I felt so cultured the whole time) then we hit up a dispensary. My first one ever too. I was amazed .. & pretty smacked the whole time I was in Portland in general, so. We get to the jam & almost immediately jump into prelims. We made it to top 8, losing after a tiebreaker. Ferg is nuts. (got to finally meet him) I can't wait to see the footage. Bea & Tina visited me & I was so grateful to see them, it felt so warm to have these women figures still in my life after all the years & all we've both been through. Got to kick it with some Florida heads as well, which made me proud to represent it. *throws up Flooridians & CC signs*

Day 1 of Portland consisted of a pretty emotional flight (I'm really scared of heights) in that making a new friend occurred. When I touched down, we got some bahn mi's & went to a bookstore before training. That night of training went from 8:30-11:30 STRAIGHT. No talking, no breaks, just rounds. Normally, i would film, but there literally was no time. I got to meet Jesus & Robin. Isiah shook me because I wouldn't have imagined us to click so well, he's so soft spoken & humble. Our parenting talks were some of the best conversations I've had while being here. I later found out he was a Pisces. This is just day 1 tho, just day 1.
