Better to be over prepared than underprepared.. • Maintain positive energy: Positive thinking is a mental and emotional state of mind that focuses on the good and expects positive outcomes. It is important that you and your team members are in a good mood at all times. It boosts your productivity level.. • Take breaks: We know how demanding Hackathons can be, that is why It is very important to take breaks so you don’t suffer burnout. Engaging games, good food, something to keep up the motivation levels.. When everyone is well rested, it keeps everyone in a good mood prevents any technical difficulties .. • Have fun: It does take a lot of work to win a hackathon, but you shouldn’t be scared or intimidated by joining if you’re a newbie. As long as you come prepared and ready to have fun, you can’t go wrong. <1> • Hackathons are fun and exciting, but they can also be tiring and stressful. If you want to win a hackathon, you’ll need to be willing to do whatever it takes.  Here are some quick tips/tricks to help make your next Hackathon a success! • Set realistic expectations: You need to think big, but start small. What is the simplest thing you can build that provides value? Make sure it’s something you can build in 24 hrs. It is easier to target a small and functional product and then work to add more features. • Keep and open mind: Sometimes it can be hard to be open to new ideas. However, hackathons are a team effort and it's important to work like a team and keep everyone's interests in mind. Learn new skills and be ready to compromise.. • Do your homework: Spend a good portion of time fleshing out the problem statements and how your solution can address it. You can’t come up with a solution without understanding the problem that you’re trying to solve.. • Communication is key: Good communication skills are key to success in life, work and relationships. It is crucial to communicate effectively to ensure you achieve your goals. Talk to potential end-users of the product and understand their pain points. Talk to the judges and mentors, and understand what they’re looking for. Ask the right questions. Talk to other teams and learn about the problems they’re facing. If you are interested in technology, dream of building an application, a website and more, there is a hackathon out there for you. Here’s something to guide/help you get prepared 👇🏼 Set clear goals: before starting anything, it’s important to set goals for yourself. Spend some time thinking about why you want to participate. Know why you want to go for this and be explicit about those goals so you can achieve them. Research the theme of the Hackathon event: Most likely, there will be some topic or theme set for the hackathon. If your goal is to win, do your research. Brainstorm and study program ideas ahead of time. Build a team: Make sure to work with people you’ll get along with. Teamwork makes the dream work. Team win Hackathons, not individuals. Be prepared: Make a list of everything you’ll need. Get all your supplies together. Do whatever you have to do to be prepared. • One of the most important things to keep in mind is that you don’t necessarily need experience – don’t let lack of it stop you. There’s literally room for everyone unless the description clearly calls for experts – in which case you can still find ways to fit in. Usually the only thing that’s holding you back, is a solid case of impostor syndrome – don’t let it hold you back. • Remember, it’s just a hackathon. Not life or death. When we hear the word “Hackathon”, what comes to mind? • The word hackathon is a combination of the words "hack" and "marathon" where hack stands for experimental, creative problem solving and marathon stands for the duration of the event.
