pj stood outside in front of the pool, in his swim trunks with his arms out wide, taking a deep breath, “i swear most times on tv you never see anybody in the pool and that’s illegal when it looks this good, don’t you think? say want to join me and definitely never been caught on camera?” he winked.
parker sat on top of the kitchen island, sipping out of his water bottle, “you know i kinda wish they gave us a phone you know like they do on love island so i’d at least feel some sense of security. i’m not saying i’m lost without it, but i definitely feel like theres weight missing from my pocket and it’s driving me a little wild. how wild? i’m not sure, but wild enough. like i’m not saying i’d do anything you dared me to right now, but like i’d take suggestions, sure.”
After an emotionally exhausting first day, Atticus wanted nothing more than to nurse his hangover with water and silence. The sunlight felt harsh against his skin and he was grateful for his sunglasses hiding bloodshot eyes. He felt slightly irritable, having had a horrendous sleep, his internal clock was off balance. Atticus was silent as he stood outside, taking in the beauty of the villa before him for a long moment. He took a deep breath, trying to clear his thoughts and momentarily closed his eyes. Atticus nearly jumped out of his skin when he felt a tap on his shoulder. His heart thumped in his chest and his giggle at his own fright, “You scared the shit out of me!”
“uh, i don’t know who made this pizza but it’s mine now.” harper announced to a practically empty living room as she piled a few slices of cold pizza in her hand and tried to find some water to drown her slight hangover. “y’know, i’m very impressed that no one fell into the fire last night. i had an over under that it was going to be me after my fifth whiskey coke but somehow i managed to survive unscathed. how did your night fare?” the brunette spoke, pizza filling her cheeks as she took a seat on the couch next to the other.
“smile!” the blonde chirped happily before the click of her camera shutter went off rapidly capturing the candid moment of the other. “i’m sorry, it just looked so beautiful and the light was just right. i can delete them if you want - i should’ve asked first that was so rude of me.” of course she turned the moment sour with her endless talking. one of her downfalls when it came to interacting with people. “they do look really nice though,” she stated, paging through the photos on the screen and offering the other a look.
angel had been making small talk for awhile, quickly growing tired of repeating the same things to different faces. where she was from, her name, how nice the weather was in greece … sure, that is normally how conversations go down, but after 10+ hours on connecting flights, she was growing impatient for some excitement. aimlessly , decora nails swirl around a pink straw , her blushed cheek resting on her hand as she moped at the bar, a soft sigh leaving her glossy lips. all of a sudden, something sparks in her mind. refuting her initial defeat, the brunette signals the bartender for another drink, before turning her bar stool to face the other. “so … remember how they interviewed us before we got here ? i got kinda dizzy with all those questions, but i really had to think about an answer for the top 5 things i was most excited to do part ! besides … you know, love and all that. pretty much, i remember saying i want to meet a dolphin, swim with it, feed it, all that … i want to jump off a really high cliff into the sea … to ride around on one those four wheel motorcycles … and …. uhm … if i remember the rest, i’ll let you know. — what about you ? i feel like it says a lot about someone. but be warned, if your ideas were better than mine, i’m inviting myself to tag along.”
“Uh, I’m sorry if I offended you back there.” Otto glanced back briefly at the group of people a couple yards away and scratched the back of his head. He wasn’t the best when it came to interactions. If his anxiety didn’t catch up to him then his ability to say the wrong thing at the wrong time would. He offered them a crooked smile before shuffling his feet slightly. How was he going to make friends if he kept screwing up like this? “Sometimes I just put my foot in my mouth and…look, is there something I can do to make you dislike me a little less? I never claimed to be good at first impressions.”
Emma wiped some smeared eyeliner from below her eye before letting out a sigh. She stared at her reflection in the bathroom mirror and gave herself a confident smile before making her way back outside with the rest of the group. She walked to the bar area with a smile on her face, hoping to give an inviting vibe to the other individuals. “You got this, Em,” she mumbled to herself as she plopped up on an empty bar stool. Being a shy and reserved person most of her life, this environment and experience was completely knew to her. If she was going to break out of that shell, this was her chance. She looked around the bar, and helped herself to a bottle of champagne. “Who needs a glass, am I right?” She said out loud, mostly to herself, followed by a nervous chuckle when she noticed someone had taken the seat beside her. “Whoops, were you going for this? I’m sure there are more here somewhere,” she said, shuffling around the bar.
“okay okay, while i absolutely love mixed drinks,” destiny started from where she stood at the bar, turning to the person beside her with an excited grin, “i feel like tonight deserves something a little bit more, oh i don’t know, naughty.” a laugh left her mouth at her own phrasing, but she rolled with it anyways, holding up two shots of tequila she had acquired from the bartender, “take a shot with me?” she offered, “it’s only the best tequila this beach has to offer, so, saying no would only be punishment to yourself.”
the worst part about being at the beach at night was–well. the fact that it was night. now, mateo enjoyed a good bonfire as much as the next guy, but his problem was that they only provided so much light. it didn’t help he was naturally clumsy, of course, and it being dark only made it ten times worse. as he walked from the bonfire back towards the bar, his eyes focused on the lit area ahead of him, he didn’t notice the person walking past him. he also didn’t notice the flip-flop someone had left in the sand; he stumbled, managing to catch himself before he could fall. what he didn’t manage to do, though, was not spill his drink on the person. “oh my god, i’m so sorry,” he apologized immediately, a nervous smile stretching across his face, “…if it helps, it’s only water?”
the day had already been so overwhelming for her already that maggie didn’t know how much more she could take. it was her first time on a plane, on a thirteen hour flight in economy, and her first time in a foreign country and this far away from home. when she originally applied for the show she never dreamed she’d actually get cast but here she was. on a beach in mykonos, greece with complete strangers for the next few months. “i feel like this is all a dream,” the blonde spoke to no one in particular as she kicked the sand with her feet, “a dream i really hope i never wake up from.” her southern drawl sounding particularly prominent among the mix of voices on the beach.
parker stood alongside the bonfire, preaching, “i’m not saying someone should dare me to do the worm, but i’ve been practicing and i think it’s pretty flawless.” parker rolled his shoulders, “or you know any dance moves, i’ve been told i’m quite good and you know, as a queen once said, these hips don’t lie.” with his hand on his hips he leaned from left to right, trying to prove his point,”and while i know it’s corny to quote shakira, i think you can’t ever go wrong with shakira, and that is something i would bet on.”
Being on long flights was not a new thing to Maxwell, he was one of the very few people who enjoyed it. Not that he ever did travel so far before, planes didn’t scare him. It took him a bit longer to come down to the bar, knowing that he wouldn’t sit still not knowing at least some of the nearby sights. He was curious by nature which was a trait he got from his parents. As he made his way toward the congregation of people at the bar, he scanned the room briefly getting a few first impressions from the ones he saw in his view. There were a few guys hanging around and some girls talking to each other. Rather than coming into and cutting a conversation he decided to get a drink first. The weather was nice and sunny, nothing truly new to him, already being from the island. His hand hit the counter and took an open seat sitting down, looking through the menu to decide on a drink. He pursed his lip and blew out a small breath. “Could I have a vodka tonic please? Thank you.” Maxwell smiled and turned to watch the view. Soon as he has his drink in front of him he twirled the drink with a small straw and poured some salt to make it change color slightly. A small trick he had learned from one of his best buddies.
Lena looked around the beach taking it all in. She took a sip from her cup as she looked out at the ocean. She took a deep breath wondering why she had decided this would be a good idea since she was shy person. Always had been. She took a deep breath of the salty air that was mixed with the bonfire scent and turned around. She had given herself a small pep talk.
“Here we go.” She said quietly before walking toward the bar to grab another drink. It wasn’t lost on her that there were attractive people standing at the bar. She definitely looked as she walked up. She slowly put a smile on her face as she walked up to the bar and ran her fingers through her hair as she ordered her drink.
great. elliott’s first night in mykonos and he was already experiencing a true greek tragedy. he looked down at his cup of yoghurt that had spilled all over the sand, frowning dejectedly. “oh, for fuck’s sake,” the blond muttered to himself, hoping that no one had heard him. thankfully, everybody else seemed to be occupied, scrambling all over the place to garner dates and find their potential love. elliott crouches down, warily looking both ways before hastily tossing the cup to the side. he grabs a handful of sand, about to conceal the creamy evidence, when he felt someone’s gaze on him. “what are you looking at?” he asked, annoyance lacing his tone, as if he hadn’t been caught doing something incriminating.
“my flight was dead awful,” nate griped to the first person willing to listen. “first, had to drive all the way to the chester airport, and traffic was horrible. then, my flight got delayed by two hours, so i had to wait in that godawful airport doing nothin’ but twiddlin’ me thumbs.” he took a drink of the alcohol that was in front of him, which happened to be champagne. “anyways–is it just me, or are people drinking champagne constantly on this show?”
as the sun fell beyond the horizon and the stars came out to dance, a pumped up ronni ruiz drained his first (of many) beers. to celebrate, he lifted up a fist to the heavens, smashed the beer-can into the side of his forehead with a great, big shove, and then yelled out an almost unintelligible primal roar. the night had just been born, and ronni was ready to begin his conquest of season 2 of in paradise.
he thought about tossing the can of beer into the bonfire – and he almost did, yeah – but stopped when he saw that a fellow contestant was watching him. “alright?” he said energetically as he tossed the can onto the sand, instead, and marched over to greet them.
