I saw a lot of you asking how to overcome those feelings of being jealous of other people art, of the challenges of art or the frustration of your own art not matching what you initially envisioned. 💜To all of you, know this: you’re not “behind”, you’re not “worse” and your art is not “wrong”. 💜
Many beginner artists might miss clarity in what they want to draw, or skills they still need to fully develop, but all of us should have fun while doing art, not be miserable about it. More than 1700 students decided to try to finally change their point of view alongside me, and while I wont be able to help everyone (my courses have limited spots) i hope i can help you falling in love with art again💜
You still have 3 days to join before registrations close again!
been making little animations lately and im going to find a way to make more for my youtube videos cause its FUN
I've been studying old miniature for a while now but I forgot I learned that one of the elements in persian illumination is called Eslimi and it's a floral, leaf like design usually drawn in the centre of the composition
Another name for Eslimi is Rumi. and Rumi is usually a part of a pattern. Get it? Nevermind
my little brother
ok so.
these guys.
are similar to
the rudinns & rangers.
and ive been kinda stumped for a while
but i legit think i figured out what they are.
so let me send you through my thought process...
“hm. rudinn. rudinn ranger. chapter 5 flower enemy.
rudinn. rudinn ranger. chapter 5 flower enemy.
damn it. what connection does this thing have to rudinns? is it because rudinns like money?
why is it shaped like the rudinns? is it because this new enemy is a type of card?
and i mean, chapter 5 is japan and flower themed.
but what would cards have to do with money, flowers, and japan—
*REALIZATION*
YOU.”
The only thing that makes me hesitant about being 100% confident in this deduction is that the colors are wrong, but the colors for darkners have never really 1:1 matched with their irl counterparts anyway… usually. Rudinns are green while irl diamond cards are red.
If these enemies aren’t Hanafuda then i just genuinely have no idea what they’re supposed to be. Their attacks make me think of fireworks, but thats not card related, and they LOOK like they’re origami, but thats not card related either (at least i don’t think it is.)
As a side note I actually just love these fellas look at them
they got flower petals on they head.
Theyre little goobers. theyre little snilers.

A fusion fight unlike any other...
Heheheehe It's almost time for PYRITE again1 I will say, it feels weird to not have to keep up all the secrecy this time around like I did the first time I wrote this chapter, but it's also sort of liberating to just have it all out there? As for this chapter, I LOVE it and I cannot wait to revisit it, I even have plans to make it a little longer, just 'cause its such a good time! So get ready, because Pyrite is almost upon us... :3
He was my friend.

GUYS I’VE BEEN LISTENING TO IMMORTALS BY FALL OUT BOYS AND DRAWING HIRO ALL DAY SOMEONE SEND HELP….
I’m sorry I support all jokes but cave johnson would not be supportive of trans women
Due to a recent accident in the labs, the boys downstairs have found a way to turn men into women. Amazing breakthrough, and we wish you all luck on your transition. And your job hunt. You’re all fired. Sorry boys, nothing against you. We just don’t need women around here trying to clean up the lab while the men are trying to do real work. Cave out.
Once when I was in undergrad, someone described something as “problematic” in class and our professor was like, “That’s cool, but ‘problematic’ doesn’t really mean anything. It means that the thing you’re describing has a problem, and in and of itself that’s not bad. Art, especially, should always have problems, or else it’s not interesting and not art, either. It sounds like you’re trying to say that this is bad, but you don’t want to say ‘bad.’ Is that right?”
So from then on whenever one of us called something problematic, he would make us talk it out until we could name the “bad” thing we were hinting at. In this particular class, 7/10 it was some type of oppression, and the remainder was like, “I’m uncomfortable because this is very new/confusing/pushing boundaries that made me feel safe.”
Once we stopped calling things “problematic” and stopping at that, class got way more interesting and... we all had to say, like, “that’s racist” or “that’s misogynistic” or “ew capitalism gross” out loud, which a lot of us had never done in a classroom before. Or we had to be like, “Uhhh... I’m not sure what’s so bad?” and confront our own beliefs and that was maybe even more useful.
Anyway. Whenever I see the word problematic, I can’t help but think of this professor being like, “Good starting point, now let’s get specific.” I think when we have to commit to saying “that’s ___” it requires a lot more careful thought about the truth and impact and complexities of whatever we’re claiming. Sometimes there really is some bullshit afoot, and also sometimes it’s art, and it should be full of problems, because that’s what art is.
