TRAVELLER WHO IS EXPERIENCING IT ALL

Every journey starts with excitement and anticipation and a traveller believing they know what they are heading to. While this might be an accurate statement I don't believe that you can be 100% prepared for everything that you will encounter. It is not unlike coming home full of enthusiasm to show your happy snaps to the family only to find that they are feigning the 'happy' part purely for your benefit - after all you had to be there to feel it as it really is. Countries like Laos and in particular Luang Prabang, Tibet and Bhutan, Myanmar and Japan - can you see the Asian theme here? My travels take me far and wide to many places in Europe as well. Iceland, Norway and the lesser known Faroe Islands. One of my all time favourite cities is Prague in the Czech Republic. At the end of every journey I feel fulfilled and invigorated to plan the next story. The elephant sanctuary in Luang Prabang is trying ever so hard to provide a haven for those that have been used for logging in the past. They roam free during the day, are treated by a vet when they become ill and have sugarcane and bananas on tap, what more could an elephant want. All they need now is for those still enslaved to be set free. Tibet is the one country that I can truly say has left me with an indelible memory. Travel is the only thing that truly makes you richer - how true that saying is.
