Hello loves. Hope youâre all doing well and looking after yourselves.
My hand and wrist still arenât great. Iâm having to take painkillers every day to keep the nasty achy feeling away and wearing a super sexy wrist brace too.
For the time being, the hiatus is going to have to continue Iâm afraid because typing one handed sucks!

OOC: Unfortunate News
Oh dear. I would seem I need to put everything on hold again. My RSI (repetitive strain injury) in my right hand and wrist has come back with a vengeance, which means I need to spend the weekend resting my hand or risk making the injury worse. I canât afford to be signed off work right now; plus intense pain sucks big donkey balls so I donât want it.
Sorry to mess people around. I donât really have a choice in the matter.

(hurt meme) Natasha walked into to talk with the medic, per request, well, orders. She was to report back to her because they still didn't trust Widow to say something if she was injured. If she still wasn't healed they didn't want her in the field. And since she didn't kill Agent Michaels yet, they suggested her. So imagine her surprise when she found the other woman laying there, clearly injured. Not officially a healer, but knowledgeable, Natasha sprang into action. "And you lecture me?"
Your muse walks in on mine laying in bed shirtless and has bruises, open wounds and gashes all over them and hasn't been heard from all day. How does yours react?
It had been some guy who seemingly came out of nowhere who had attacked Alexis. She had tried to put up a fight but the guy was bigger and stronger and eventually got the better of the agent. She tried to make a mental note to do some extra self defense training if she ever lived through this but her mind was cloudy with what felt like a concussion. She managed to make it back to her work station with the purpose of trying to fix herself up but she must have passed out once she had reached one of the beds.
She woke up to someone's hands on her and the scent of alcohol wipes. She groaned, her head pounding with pain. She cracked open her eyes to see a familiar redhead in front of her. "Romanoff?" She managed to mumble. "Why are you here? What's going on?"

It was early, too early, and yet Alexis was awake. Megan was still asleep and not likely to stir for a few hours. Alexis watched her lover slumber, a small smile playing on her lips. She knew full well that Megan didn't go in for the lovey-dovey stuff and normally, neither would Alexis. But right now, Megan was off in dreamland and unaware of anything happening in the real world.
"I think I found my place with you," Alexis whispered to Megan, her voice barely audible just in case Megan decided to stir. Alexis brushed some of Megan's hair out of her face and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. Megan didn't even move.

"If my little cutiepie has little ones, Iâll give you one of them. Or two, how you want. Itâs just really hard to take care of them." Skye continued, trying to hold back the laughter too.
"Please. If I can look after agents who are stupid enough to get themselves hurt out in the field, I can look after a couple of dragons. I watched Harry Potter, I know what I'm doing." Cue more suppressed giggles.

"You guys get dragons? No fair. All I get is broken agents who need stitching back together, grief and paperwork. I want a dragon," Alexis teased while struggling to hold back the laughter.

Alexis didn't know who to trust any more. It seemed that everyone had scattered the moment things started to fall apart. She felt alone and scared. The organisation that had given her life much needed structure and a sense of belonging was apparently no more. What the hell was she supposed to do now?
She did the only thing she could think of. She tried to track down her former colleagues and find out some answers. She avoided the ones who had identified themselves as Hydra; she didn't want to know what had happened to those guys. Instead she sought those she thought she might be able to trust, no matter what the doubts in the back of her mind tried to tell her.
While she had never worked too closely with Jon Corvus, she had gotten a good vibe from him, whatever that meant. Maybe he was a part of Hydra, maybe he wasn't. Alexis wasn't going to know for sure but going by her gut, she thought there was a chance he was one of the good guys. She turned up on what she hoped was his doorstep late one afternoon. She knocked on the door and tried to resist the urge to chew on one of her fingernails while she waited for him to answer.Â
Not Helping
The apology seemed sincere so she didn't press it, even though it was an issue with so many people. "Romanoff, Agent, or both. Those are fine." Natasha was too personal for someone who didn't know her.
All this talk of letting her do things...in the Red Room medical anything was sketchy. That mentality stayed with her. She never liked the lack of control of her own body. Natahsa took a moment to review her inuries. Blood loss from a wound, hit her head, didn't feel like a concussion, but they often didn't. Ankle. Twisted, maybe sprained. Various cuts and bruises. Nothing seemed broken yet. But when she tried to get up she'd find out.
"I will NOT go to the hospital. And I'll be fine as I said. I've stitched myself up before. If all I needed was stitches then Bruce could've done that. Why did they send a medic?" It wasn't personal, just because she was from Medical.
"Bruce is busy," Alexis snapped, glancing over her shoulder at the large green form of the Hulk, currently being talked down a few notches in his anger scale by Tony Stark and Thor. "Believe me, I wouldn't be here if I didn't have to be. I'm here at the request of your superior officer. We've both been outranked."
Alexis pulled away the dressing from the wound on Natasha's side and let out the breath she had been holding when she saw that Natasha's super duper healing thing was finally kicking in. She worked quickly, before Natasha could start wriggling, and managed to get in enough stitches to hold the wound closed. She redressed the wound and moved onto Natasha's ankle.
"If you don't go to the hospital, you're at least going to get signed off active duty for a few days. You're not going to be able to the super awesome spy thing while you're injured. Yeah, I know," she said, holding up her hand in an attempt at keeping Natasha silent, "you heal faster than most, but you'll still need to rest. Is any of this going in, Romanoff?"

"Iâll go to the hospital and afterwards come back. How long will you be here?"
"I'm here for hours yet. Just get yourself there and back safely, alright?"
Not Helping
It wasnât playing. Natasha honestly believed sheâd be fine. Partially because yes, sheâd convinced herself. It wasnât because her team was nearby. She would do this alone. They could attest to that in medical. It wasnât as though she wasnât aware something was wrong. She hurt more than usual. She felt a bit lightheaded, but that wasnât going to stop her. She could sleep it off at worst she figured. Thatâs what she usually did,. Sometimes even after an injury there were back to back missions when she was in the Red Room. In the Red Room she didnât get to âsleep it offâ. SHIELD allowed her luxuries like that. So WHY did they have to send medical?
"I heal faster than most do. Iâll be fine." The Widowâs eyes narrowed, smacking away the hand of the medic. "Donât call me âWomanâ. " She was no longer a possession, no longer something to be controlled. You did not call her such things. Little things like that bothered her, reminded her, frightened her. She was no longer in the Red Room, she was no longer just another womanâŚ
"Sorry," Alexis said quickly, her eyes briefly flicking up to meet Natasha's. "Would you prefer it if I called you Natasha, Romanoff, Agent, Black Widow?" She listed off the various names associated with her patient quickly as a distraction tactic more than manners or showing polite consideration. For the moment, Natasha appeared to be remaining quite still. The longer Alexis could keep her that way, the more she could help her.
"And I know you heal faster than most but if you don't cooperate, I won't be able to help your body do it's healing thing and you'll end up in hospital with much grumpier people than me. I know you don't want that, considering how you seem to dislike me already." Alexis kept one hand on the dressing that was pressed against Natasha's side as she reached into her kit for a new, fresh sewing kit. The stitches were going to be crude but better than letting the agent bleed out in front of her.
Not Helping
Natasha hated Medical. She hated being the patient, not that it was ever pleasant to watch someone else ill or injured. Those times she said she wished it were her, though half of those times she wouldnât have needed help if it were her. Something about her advanced healingâŚRogersâ was better, but hers wasnât half bad.Â
Stubborn medic. âIâm. Fine.â The redhead replied through gritted teeth. So sheâd been injured. It happened to the best of them. Why did she need a medic? Bruce tended to do the minor patching up. And it was usually minor. She was conscious after all.
Alexis was used to agents trying to play tough after they had been beaten down enough to require a medic, especially when the rest of their team was still nearby. Alexis could feel the eyes of Captain America and Hawkeye practically burn into the back of her skull as she crouched over their wounded team-mate. She could understand their concern but she couldn't understand why they could just let her get on with her work. Natasha was making it hard enough as it was.
"You're not fine. It might have escaped your attention but you've lost a lot of blood and I'm trying to stop you from losing any more." She replaced the now soaked dressing with a fresh one, putting pressure on it. This would be easier if Natasha wasn't so stubborn. "Hold. Still. Woman."

Things were bad enough already, and it didn't help that Alexis's current patient was being stubborn beyond all reason. Yeah so the other Avengers were close by, anxiously waiting to hear more about the patient's status. Yeah so the patient just happened to be Natasha Romanoff herself. Didn't mean she could get away with not following Alexis's orders.
"I said hold still or you'll rip the stitches I just put in. Jesus, it's like you want to bleed out or something."
Alexis could scarcely believe she was talking to the legendary Black Widow in such a tone but needs must.

"Well, that sounds more like a description of Ward." Skye answered, chuckling a bit. "Coulson is cool. but he really couldnât do anything like that. Not even Ward would and thatâs a lot to say. Something else?"Â
"OK, so maybe that last one was a little far-fetched. And all the other rumours I've heard are just ridiculous; like Coulson slaying dragons and the like. He hasn't, has he? Has he slayed any dragons?"
