The Perfect Knot

I've been living in Chicago my whole life, and the one thing I've noticed over the years is men tying their ties. Gentlemen, like anything else when your suiting up, its "attention to detail" Whether its the tailoring, fitting of your shirt, pocket square, etc, attention to detail is key! Taking that extra 30 seconds in the morning to make that knot perfect goes a long way gents. 

I don't know where I found this picture, but this is the perfect example of a bad knot (not to mention, he needs to update his tie collection). I can clearly see the top button on his shirt, his knot is off to the side, and I wouldn't be surprised if the length of his tie passes his zipper. 

Now this is what a great knot should look like!

See the difference? I can't see his top collar button, the knot is facing forward, and has great dimple in his knot.

I personally go with the half windsor, because its the most versatile knot, but I also go with the full windsor on formal occasions.
