I am a multi-muse! I’m simply lacking in time management skills to actually get all of my graphics and whatnot update since mushing all of my muses into one blog on top of Noel’s old one. 

My URL is an attempt to be Clever and cover many bases at once. Each muse comes with a “pun” of sorts that can play into the main url. Nicholas, Noel, and Daniel are the primary muses, with the others available upon request.

Age of Sail ;; Noel Thomas Mercer - Modern England. (1648-Present).

Born in the middle of the seventeenth century he, was born into the latest era in which a peasant boy could hope to ascend to a gentleman’s title – with the only route of option being that of becoming an officer in the Royal Navy. While born a human, the lack of one of England’s representatives tolled on the Kingdom and required a new one step into Nicholas’ place. Having proven himself to be what constitutes an ideal Englishman - loyal, gritty, fiercely devoted to his King and Country - Noel was granted the life of an Immortal. And he complains about every moment of it.

Age of (chain) Mail ;; Sir Nicholas William Grey - Medieval England/Plantagenet England (1048-1514)

Born in the late 10th century, he came to represent the Kingdom of England under the guidance of the royal family Plantagenet. He served as a personal, immortal bodyguard and advisor to the Kings of England throughout the medieval era until the aftermath of the War of the Roses & the rise of Tudor England left him so disconnected from his kingdom that he could no longer serve. Some say he still haunts the Tower of London to this day, but modern sightings are incredibly rare.

Age of Rail ;; Daniel Aleksander King Hill  Fitzroy - Manhattan/New York/The United States of America (1627-Present)

Born and soon orphaned in the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam in the early days of its conception, adopted into the British Empire, he learned and grew with the fledgling colony and developed a right love of the ideas of equality and fairness. He was loyal to the crown and fought desperately to keep order within the colony, to stamp out the Rebellion. However, the will of the People won out, and Daniel found himself growing ever prouder of his People as time went by. America itself went through many tests in its time, questioning what was right and what was fair, the struggle of embodying an entire nation is not an easy task, but the weight has fallen upon his shoulders.

Please note that my personifications are NOT the Hetalia character - and in most cases (particularly notable with Daniel!) they have almost nothing in common with their Hetalia canon counterpart. My muses are intended to co-exist with Hetalia muses, NOT replace them! Noel is of lower rank than Arthur, but still a representative of England, likewise for Daniel to Alfred. All of my muses have highly specific origins and if needed for comfort, they can pass as representatives of “lower” rungs on the ladder, ie Daniel a representative of New York, Noel is Northern England/Working Class, Noah is Queensland, etc.

Also!! The Eclipse path of totality crossed my apartment complex! I didn’t even have to go anywhere— the universe made up for my car breaking and refusing to start when I was gonna go to Tennessee to see the 2017 eclipse.

Absolutely fantastic sight, I only have to wait 21 years until the next one crosses my city. Exciting!

Noel was terrified of Sea Monsters!

The youngest of a dozen siblings, and even then, the quietest and jumpiest of the lot, he was oft the victim of brotherly pranks— things thrown on him from a climbed tree, grabbing his ankles from underwater while he was wading in the ocean, and so forth.

And the scary stories of what lurked beneath the waves.

Naive and ignorant, young Noel listened with wide eyed wonder as brothers convinced him to the idea of dragons and serpents out at sea, hunting for lost ships and tired young boys who didn’t keep up.

He was convinced that his family’s post, tending the Brighton Bonfire — a long-lasting fireblaze every night and foggy day that was later replaced by modern lighthouses — was for the purpose of frightening these monsters away from shore. It was in fact, so that ships could navigate the rivers mouth and sail into Liverpool without issue, but for an entirely different reason.

When the lighthouse was built and the Mercer occupation lost to developing technologies, that young lad joined a naval crew to help hunt down those very monsters. He was honestly a little disappointed he’s never gotten the opportunity to battle a dragon at sea.

Dear Editor, I have taken Notice of your rather Uncanny Abilities, both of the Pen and that of Greater Interest. Your words flow with Tender Emotions and a Wondrous Melody and yet my Notice has become unwavering from that of the Transport of Messages through Time itself, to the Future, of Great Distance and Perhaps, even, to the Past? What’s in a name?

Over the past 393 years, Daniel has gone by a good handful of names. The one constant that has stuck from the time he was first named at 8 days old until this very day has been his first name: Daniel. 

This name comes  from the Hebrew name דָּנִיֵּאל (Daniyyel) meaning “G-d is my judge”. Unlike some Personifications who had the chance to choose their own name upon reaching the point of conciousness or sentience, his was given to him by his mother and from it he has taken the advice it gives over his life. There is an odd comfort in that constant reminder that regardless of what people think of him on Earth, there really is only one Being to whom he will have to eventually answer.  Because of its meaning’s significance, he has never felt the need to change it as he has of his middle and surnames.

Until he was adopted into the colonyship of England, Daniel bore a Dutch surname: Koenig, which simply meant king in that language. The true source of that surname is unknown to Daniel, and he never really got a chance to ask his parents, as his father died a month prior to his being born, and his mother passed away when he was still a small child. The name Koenig was later given to his wife, Anna Wilbore, and for a time after her death in 1641 Daniel considered keeping her surname in lieu of the one his mother passed to him, but that consideration was done for him in 1665 when he for the first time stepped foot in England into the court of King Charles II. Due to the lack of resistance against English acquisition of the New Netherland colonial territories, and Daniel’s own expresséd pleasure of being free of the Dutch rule, he was granted royal favour and adopted into the king’s own family as a member of English governance. Legally, he was to be considered an illegitimate son of the king, and thus was given the surname Fitzroy, and by his own choice took on Charles as a middle name. 

Daniel Charles Fitzroy stuck as his name for quite a long time, and did not change again until January 14, 1784 during the ratification of the Treaty of Paris which saw the formal ending of the American War for Independence. Shortly after the signing, Daniel gave a speech to those present, which included key figures such as George Washington, John Hancock, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, etc. The conclusion of said speech included an affirmation of his intent to uphold the right of the newly independent United States, would not take an active role in any further loyalist movements, would cede submission to the joined voices of Congress, the President, and Judiciary offices, and to prove his commitment to this pledge of allegiance, chose to take on a new name, shedding the most visible relic of his ties to England.

Charles was traded for Aleksander, both to give honour to one of the political minds that Daniel found himself agreeing with more often than most others among the nation’s Founding Fathers, Alexander Hamilton, and to give a small nod to the Dutch blood that ran in him, thus favouring the ks- infix over the more modern x- spelling of the name. Fitzroy was exchanged for Hill, a common surname, a simple name that did not assume any major role in society - no claiming of rank or occupation, yet added a second reminder to the scar on Daniel’s cheek of the personal significant of the Battle of Bunker Hill. 

Daniel Aleksander Hill stood as his name for more than a century thereafter until the Spanish-American War’s end result saw America now in possession of colonies - Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and several minor island holdings wrested from Spanish grasp. This, along with the past century in gaining confidence as a Nation, strides in domestic and international solidification of America as a powerhouse of diplomatic relations and economic significance which would be proven double over in the coming decades, cemented the United States of America into the technical definition of an Empire, which Daniel saw fit to pay some homage to that and adjust his name yet again, affirm that he was a powerful player on the world stage. 

Surely one deserving to call himself King.

Its such a simple, reductive statement. And delivered so off-hand. It shouldn't have dug into Daniel's nerves nearly as deeply as it did, and yet it exists and squirms under his skin in a way that makes his blood boil near instantly.

And yet, outwardly, Daniel remains calm and collected. Only the narrowing of his eyes and a subtle tilt to his head betrayed the anger such a statement rose in him. Hell, he even smiled at it.

"We live in a capitalistic society, Mr. Carnegie. To those without it, money is everything. To those with it, it is never enough. Whether your claim of aiming to rid yourself of your fortunes for the betterment of society is true or not, I do not believe it will ever begin to make up for what you had to do to acquire such wealth in the first place."
