The Morality of AI Isn't the (Only) Problem

I am not a cybersecurity expert. I'm maybe moderately more technologically competent than the average simmer at most. I am, however, very fortunate to have my spouse and a friend who both work in the field and, as far as I can tell, are pretty good at their jobs.

So I harassed begged politely asked both of them to explain to me like the imbecile I am the unique issues related to vibe coding, specifically related to a certain incident in the Sims community.

I'm not trying to be the contrarian. I firmly believe that people should be allowed to grow from their mistakes. I'm not here to throw stones at glass houses and all that shit.

But both of them helped explain to me why the original app, while not made in bad faith or with ill intent, is still effectively malware in the current internet climate (and also why the rebranded app still has some glaring issues).

So, anyway, censored screenshots below the cut of the Discord chats in case I missed some PII.

TLDR; people who made a lot of modern malware try to use apps already installed on the device with superfluous permissions they do not need to sneak past a lot of antivirus software, and unsigned software can be hijacked by the same bad-faith actors to trick people to download malware.

Pink is myself. Purple is my friend with ~10 years of cybersecurity experience and I can't even hint at her current job because she's legitimately one of the only women in the office (and also again I'm kind of dumb so a lot of what she does in particular goes over my head).

He also explained that a lot of vibe-coded programs, from his perspective, even if otherwise "fine", will just behave weird.

(For added context, the "alerts" he's talking about are something suspicious happens on a client's computer, and the company he works for is paid to investigate if it was expected behavior or a sign of active malware on the computer.)

Carlos retired and has been living his elderly life to the fullest by dating (both successfully and not), learning how to breakdance, buying fancy suits, etc He also rolls a want to swim every morning, so that's exactly what he does along with other exercises to keep his body in shape 👍 Other than that, he's just one sim so those 4 days passed quite uneventfully

Cordial sisters became witches, as Watcher intended. Kimberly apparently had her first kiss with Armand when I wasn't playing them so considering Armand later woohooed with Samantha (also when i wasn't playing them)... not cool buddy, not cool. There was a fire at the beginning of the third day, but there was an alarm, so everyone survived, thank gawd. Kim got promoted from a chance card the say day, noice :3 She also rolled a want to ask someone on a date, and her rizz methods are kinda questionable ngl, they did end up going on a date tho Connor keeps stealing their newspapers and kicking their trashcan, which is valid honestly 💀 After dating Armand for a while, Samantha eventually ended up preggers and rolled a want to get engaged..! She got rejected though lol, slow feelings mod made Armand neither get a crush nor fall in love, so I interpreted it as him not taking their relationship seriously and rolled a dice to either force a rejection or not. Karma from cheating came back, I guess? Kimberly was NOT pleased with Armand either way, now she's plotting revenge, as those powers can't go for nothing amiriteeee A hideous beautiful child was born, I named her Mary-Anne as a reference to Mary-Sue from Pleasantview :p

Gabriel had a want to flirt with Chastity (pretty sure he always does at the start of the game?), so he did! Then Chastity went to a community lot to meet some new people and ran into.. Geoff who autonomously flirted with her and got rejected, bro really can't take a "no" huh? At least she met Sinjin Couderc. Given that in this version of Belladonna Cove Gabriel has a guitar, I decided that he'll be performing next to the human statue on his days off. On his first day he earned only 75, but it's a start! Chastity ended up bringing Sinjin home, I guess her roommate doesn't particularly mind? No cuck chair :/ Next morning Gabriel rolled a want to get his first kiss sooo, I did indeed fullfill it for him and they're officially in a committed open relationship :3 On another day of his performing I've witnessed quite a cheating session, so I ordered Gabriel to leave at once 💀 I also decided to roll a random scenario cuz why not, then rolled a dice to see which one of them would start such club, turned out to be Chasity! Mary Gavigan is into tinkering as well, so she's the first recruit lol, and I bought Chastity a model train set for her hobby, perhaps she's a nerd just like Gabriel /pos After their date consisting mostly of building model trains she actually got pregnant from risky woohoo and had a want to get engaged, so that'd be their state for the end of the round :3

I started playing in Kattaty's Belladonna Cove with faces swapped to those with infant template by Kingakicia2001, yay :3

Isabel got pregnant and gave birth to TWINS, which surprised me ngl, their names are Pedro and Petra! Marcus also aged up to a child, he chose a dress for himself and got randomized as heteroromantic asexual, so happy pride Marcus 💚

Timothy lost his job as a surgeon to a chance card lol, but honestly that might be for the better considering what the chance card was 💀 Like brooo, you can't take care of others efficiently if you don't take care of yourself as well

After aging up Etsu randomized as a lesbian and chose this fit as everyday and a suit for formal, so perhaps she'll be a butch in the future, happy pride to her as well, and to Sally bc she also randomized as gay (they're the only lesbians in this generation of playables, but i'm obviously not getting them together cuz that'd be weird af) Vivian and Timothy got married at this wedding venue as watcher intended! Not sure if their marriage will last though, considering Timothy got a commitment issues trait and Vivian secondary romance aspiration, maybe they'll open their marriage? I dunno :p

Jason got demoted on the very first day of the round, so he went to get some drinks with Geoff to take his mind off it, just brothers-in-law being bros, nothing gay bout it trust me (the old guy who walked in on them shook his head horizontally and left, i wish i recorded that LMAO). Marissa has an affair with Carlos, so she and Jason are fair and square i guess? shrug Justin got together with Tara, although i didn't plan on that since they have pretty mid chemistry (1 bolt), so they'll prob break up eventually, but they're cute nonetheless :3 He also got to the teen career top, which means a scholarship, so.. noice! And happy pride to him since he rolled as bi

While playing the Rutherford household Geoff has genuinely just had negative rizz for the entire round lmao First Jason refused a sober woohoo, then Geoff got rejected after asking Chastity on a date. She agreed the next day, but wasn't pleased with any romantic interactions, so the date ended with a lame score (based af Chastity, girlie has standards). Connor is living his best life though, he autonomously kissed Samantha in front of quite a bunch of people without getting rejected like his loser roommate :3 On another day they went on a date to play some chess and cuddle, Connor the king of wholesomeness, I stan. Lastly happy pride to Chastity and Samantha too as they also rolled as bi (no surprises there ik), and unhappy pride to Geoff i guess?

Chinese Face Template

yo, a few months ago i made this face template of one of these sims ivy-sims extracted and been using it in my own gameplay since, didn't really bother sharing it, but seeing other ppl also pretty disappointed with the fact most custom face templates are white-centric i thought "i guess i might as well share this one since i've already made it, someone might find it useful" it has an infant life stage just like those templates i've made, thanks to non default face archetype with baby files by meowingcookie

this template has adjustments to all the life stages to make the face features more consistent, as they're originally not (for example, if one were to change the original extracted sim to male, the face shape would've been square for some reason, unlike in this template)

[TS2] Huge Lots Mod (120x120) UPDATE

Overview

Hey! As many of you know, about 4 years ago Lazyduchess released a mod for The Sims 2 that increases lot size limit from default 60x60 to 120x120. It is an amazing work, despite some issues that arise with this mod installed. Personally I wanted to play with this mod sooooo much but broken imposters made me avoid using it. Spent lot of time, I finally managed to fix the imposters at least. Snow next maybe??

Installation

It is completely the same as original, so go to LD's page for details (but you can ignore sticking to the classic lot imposter quality setting) and then download my fix and replace LD's ASI file with mine.

Improvements

Fixed multistory lots tile mapping. Added support for all lot imposter quality settings (so that it's possible to use this mod with higher lot imposter quality settings rather than classic one).

Known Issues

Snow rendering as LD mentioned in his original mod post. DOWNLOAD

hi, i recently downloaded your unhidden maxis objects and made sure to put them in the correct install location (i have the UC) but when i loaded up the game no new objects showed up in the catalog. i checked the categories you mentioned in your post, both on residential and community lots, also cleared my caches, redownloaded and tried again but still nothing. not sure if there's something i missed or if you have any idea why they're not showing up but i figured i'd let you know / ask. thanks!

huh that's weird, it should work on residential (doesn't work on community lots)

try putting the file in your downloads folder, that way everything should still work but be recognized by the game as cc

i didn't verbally assault anyone, nor dox, nor emailed tpa's job, other ppl doing that was outside of my control - accusing me of this shit is what pisses me off especially when i did say i'm against that

my mistakes were

1. not being tactful about gloriana and tpa baselessly accusing me of racism when the majority of creators whose paywalled content i share for free aren't even poc, it was never about targeting ppl based on their race but about cc paywalling being shitty

2. not making it clear that i made fun of gloriana's cc being low quality because they were also paywalled, no creator who puts their stuff out there for free deserves to be made fun of, paywallers do though :p

so, not respectfully whatsoever - stfu, i don't respect anyone who blames me for stuff i didn't ever do nor encourage, especially when the other side said multiple insults including a slur
