Hawke pulls his hand from her grasp, and she's free to take it again; if she believes herself lucky enough to succeed in keeping it the second time. One dark eyebrow quirks, and he's tempted to cross his arms.

Just because he doesn't yank his hand away doesn't mean that he's not going to act like a grump. Her hand grasps his and his lips twitch. It's less of a smile and more of a sneer, but what else was new? Rather than say anything about the contact, he keeps his mouth closed, and he looks anywhere else with a heavy, slow exhale.

Garrett tugs against the grasp, as he was not immediately aware of who had grabbed his hand. When the grip remains firm, head turns sharply and gaze is thrown to the side, where it settles on Feyna. Pursed lips relax, and blue eyes immediately soften --- however subtle. Small and insignificant changes.

( Surely she knows otherwise. )

Again, his head turns. Looking left. Looking right. Scanning. Once satisfied that they were alone, his fingers slowly spread; allowing her fingers to slip through the spaces between his own. Affections were still somewhat new to him. He had never allowed himself the luxury, and he wasn't an easy person to be with. A choice, were he asked. Don't let anyone in.

His hand squeezes hers, and he can't help but to wonder.
