remember that first live action scooby doo movie. where the antagonist was literally scrappy doo and he was stealing peoples souls, like actually really stealing and absorbing souls, and was planning on taking scoobys soul to rule the world with an army of demons and get revenge on the gang after they abandoned him because he kept peeing in the car, and near the end he turned into this huge dog monster

I researched this because I saw this movie in cinemas when I was like 6 goddamn years old and remembering its existence just now blew my mind. James Gunn screenwrote this. The writer and director of Guardians of the Galaxy, 12 full years before his most successful film. He stated in interviews that he hated Scrappy’s guts and “their whole goal was to destroy Scrappy forever”, since the character was famously brought in to Scooby Doo in the 80s to help ratings and was almost immediately overexposed and overmarketed to the point that many fans hate him. And they totally did. He hasn’t appeared in anything Scooby Doo related since, except for these throwaway allusions as a nightmare-like traumatic event for the rest of the gang. Depending how you wanna interpret those references the canon fate of Scrappy Doo was that he went nuts and tried to kill anyone. Also, according to this movie he was never even a puppy, just “had a glandular issue”, which makes all those times he went “puppy power” really creepy in hindsight tbh I haven’t watched a SD related thing in years but I spent like a half hour looking into and reading about this. Worth.
The best part is that Gunn is still proud of this and admits to writing him as the villain because scrappy is a “completely fucking awful person”

This movie was filmed on the Gold Coast in Australia and the movie props are now used on a Scooby Doo Scary Coaster at Movie World. That ride is as wild as the movie.

I have only logged on a couple of times since my daughter was born. She is now 2 months old and just perfect. She is such a happy, content chilled baby. She sleeps really well and loves to play.
It’s frustrating having a newborn while the world is going to shit. I’m a nurse so I want to be our helping but I also want to do everything in my power to keep my daughter safe. All mothers groups and play groups have been cancelled and as much as we all want to meet up for coffee, we know it’s best to just stay away for now. It’s sad that my first experience as a mum has to be now but we are making the most of it. My husband is home on full pay (works for a company that closed their doors until further notice but will keep paying staff) so we are making the most of it. We have a routine going, we are getting exercise, using our garden for picnics and playing board games of an afternoon.
We are just looking forward to the day we are past all of this and we can show my daughter just how beautiful the world is.

This photo was taken at 9:30 in the morning on a beach in Victoria. There is no filter applied to this photo. This is 4000 people packed onto a beach after their town was surrounded by bushfires leaving no clear roads to escape. They have been warned to enter the water when the fire trucks sound to escape the heat of the oncoming fire. The people of Mallacoota are experiencing hell on earth. Many fires are currently burning on the east coast of Australia, threatening many towns and leaving many stranded as escape roads have now been closed. 3 million hectares of bush have been burnt since Spring.
Our government continue to bury their heads in the sand when it comes to the effects that climate change has on our country. How many more towns need to burn before they begin to act?
We are not even in the middle of Summer yet. I don’t know how we are going to cope for another couple of months. Living in Sydney, I have forgotten what a blue sky looks like. The smoke surrounding the Sydney basin is insane, and although Sydney is surrounded by 3 fires, I am still a huge distance away.
