Been a Long Day | Damon & Tatia
agirlnamedtatia:
A long day at work was an understatement from what Tatia Petrova had expierenced today. Her bosses were preparing for a meeting with their rival company tomorrow. It was never a pleasant expierence when the Mikaelson’s met with the Salvatore’s. It was her job as Klaus Mikaelson’s assistant to have all of the paper work in order for tomorrow’s meeting. Needless to say, it was a long day that required a drink. She walked into The Grill. It was fairly crowded, but not too bad for a Thursday night. She was quick to make a beeline for the bar, sitting on a stool at the end of the bar. It was empty at her end and she wanted the silence.
She ordered a shot of whiskey to start with. While she knew she had that meeting tomorrow, she didn’t plan on drinking too much…just enough to take the edge off of her stress. The bartender brought her the shot and she took it quick, ordering a gin and tonic behind it. She was enjoying the silence of her area at the end of the bar.
When you worked at a multi million dollar corporation – one in which your father runs and you are next in line to – a drink and an escapade were something that was highly accepted whenever you had the spare time. Tonight was just another one of those nights. Damon had had a long day at the office and while he was really only looking for a strong drink, there was a craving for something more to get his mind off the fact that his father was on him nearly every second of the day about the future of the company.
When he noticed a long haired brunette at the end of the bar, he was rather intrigued and couldn’t help himself. Picking up his tumbler of bourbon, he stood and slowly walked over towards her and took the seat next to her. “Flying solo tonight?” He asked, arching a brow.
Tatia knew that with the luck she had today, her silence would be ruined. That sinking feeling filled her being when she saw a raven haired man with a glass of alcohol walking toward the bar. She hoped that he would walk passed her, but no such thing happened. He sat down next to her, clearly trying to be suave. Once she got a better look at him, she realized who he was. Of course, he was Damon Salvatore. The very reason she had the hard day at work she had expierenced.
"Unless there is someone else sitting here that I don't know about," she replied sarcastically. Not only had she heard plenty about the eldest Salvatore at work, but around town as well. He was known as Mystic Falls' most eligible bachelor. Rebekah, the Mikaelsons' only sister, was quite fond of him. She had been pinning after him, much to her brothers' and father's dismay. Tatia, on the other hand, could care less. After dating an angry, controlling Mikaelson, she wanted no part in a womanizing Salvatore. "No other poor souls to bother tonight?" She asked him as she carefully looked around the bar to point him in the right direction.
