“So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.”
"Sometimes good people make bad choices. It doesn't mean they are bad people. It means they're human."
"Do not lose hope, nor be sad." Quran 3:139.
Like all I wanna do is read books at coffee shops and be all mysterious. Is that too much to ask for?
"The only thing we're allowed to believe is that we won't regret the choice we made."
🌿 i made a list of some things i can do when i’m bored, and i thought i’d share in case it might be useful for someone else too
In our choices lie our fate.
We're all a little fucked up, anyways.
The concept of death doesn't scare me but departing this world in a position where God isn't pleased with me terrifies me to my core.
Anyone want to sneak into a library with me and recite our favourite poems?
“funerals are for the living. it's up to the living to decide what they can and cannot bear. -hannah grose.

indigenous dark academia
from real experiences by your local south american indijena
-late night studying and catching a glimpse of spirits frolicking around your house
-whispers coming from books about colonialist endeavors and the feeling of generational anger rushing through your veins in a history lecture
-immediately drawing sigils to protect every place you live in
-feeling like you’ve lost everything about yourself in a western institution until you stand in the warm rain and remember
-walking past a university building filled with native american skeletons for studying and seeing their lost spirits wandering around the grounds asking for help
-burning things for intents before studying
-hyperfixation on piercing and scarification practices from your culture studies as you regret that colonialism condemned indigenous practices
-smelling of cacao butter and coffee like your ancestors cultivated
-painfully smiling as your class debates over the ethics of ‘new world’ invasions
-blasting traditional songs on your walk to class to feel like you’re home again
-excelling in your classes despite feeling like the only non-white there
-the smell of warm skin and tea tree oil and tamarind that encases you in your favorite library spot
-walking alone throughout the campus knowing you were one of the few that got the opportunity to thrive from your lineage
-holding your head high, knowing despite the institution you study at participating in your oppression, that you will exact vengeance by becoming more than they ever would be
“Yes yes yes I do like you. I am afraid to write the stronger word.”

Simple Dark Academia
for days that we are too tired or busy.
Wearing soft shirts and sweaters
Tying your hair back with ribbon
Drinking tea from china cups
Keeping your favourite old books nearby while you're studying
Writing with your favourite fancy pen
Lighting candles and keeping them close to you
Reading just a few pages at a time
Keeping scraps of your notes in case they are important
Re-reading your favourite poems
Listening to instrumental music with headphones
Writing in your favourite notebook
Going for long walks (and finally getting to wear scarves and gloves)
add more if you wish 🖤
Edit: I removed one that could inadvertently harm someone. Thank you to those who pointed it out, I did not known
