⌠ alisha boe, 22, female, she/her ⌡ welcome back to gallagher academy, agnes montgomery ! according to their records, they’re a third year, specializing in threat elimination + linguistics, culture, & assimilation; and they did go to a spy prep high school. when i see them walking around in the halls, i usually see a flash of (sneaking out till dawn, worn out hair ties, patches on denim, and a dog eared paperback). when it’s the (virgos)’s birthday on 9/14/1997, they always request their strawberry shortcake from the school’s chefs. looks like they’re well on their way to graduation.
agnes elizabeth montgomery was born to a dynasty of exceptional spies. it took agnes a long time to understand what that really meant, but now the weight of that heritage is a lot for a listless twenty-two year old to handle.
francisco montgomery, heir to the montgomery fortune and legacy risked everything he was born to inherit when he married lydia enyenihi and fathered twins, agnes and alfred.
agnes’s relationship with her twin is the most stable thing in her life. despite the constant prodding and bothering, she truly cares for freddie and wants what is best for him.
despite agnes seeming like the more independent twin from an outsiders perspective, agnes relies on her twin more than she would care to admit. freddie is the only person who has her unquestioning trust.
agnes wanted absolutely nothing to do with the family legacy or being a spy, but the brunt of the family legacy fell on her. it was the expectation that agnes would attend a private prep spy high school and eventually gallagher academy. this was the absolute last thing agnes wanted to do, especially without her twin, so she dragged freddie down this path with her.
the extended montgomery family’s insistance on pitting agnes and freddie against each other, and their awful response to freddie coming out, has lead agnes to all but disown her extended family and the montgomery name.
while the montgomery legacy means nearly nothing to agnes, she still cant quite bring herself to severe her ties to her family name completely. the mongomery dynasty of spies has shaped agnes entire life, and she fears she is nothing without that. while the weight to a legacy and a lifetime as a spy are not something agnes wants for herself, she has no idea what she would do – who she would be – without all that.
she still manages to find comfort in the thought of leaving everything behind and starting fresh, though.
agnes has an eidetic memory, which is the ability to totally recall images and information entirely from memory. this has allowed agnes to excel in school, in foreign languages especially. in addition to english, she can fluently speak japanese, arabic, french and german. she is also comfortable communicating in spanish and mandarin, though it is clear to a native speaker that she isnt fluent.
during her time at gallagher, field work became another thing agnes excelled at. her foreign language skills and interest in other cultures quickly became an asset to her studies at gallagher. while agnes may not be gallagher’s most motivated student, her impressive lineage and natural talent make her a force to be reckoned with at the academy.
