I forgot that I updated Abigail’s face! People are still liking the old post and everytime my heart dies a little because the old version is a bit goofy... (the changes are subtle but much better imo)

I also added a preview of Haley (she’s sat almost done since January... uni is kicking my butt..) and genderbend Abby and Leah for the lols (very quick paintings just to see if they’d be any good/worth doing)

I still want to finish the whole town! Maybe mid-year when I have my break...

Here’s a watercolour I made recently! I really like how blue, pink and purple look together. Shame the scanned image doesn’t do justice to the original watercolour :’(

You can get prints of this here, but honestly it looks super good on all the other stuff Society6 does, like bath mats or mugs (def buying my own next time they do free shipping!)

“Just too much...”

You know that feeling when you’ve been bottling up things and you feel like you’re going to finally burst. I wanted to paint it, here’s the result. I tried :) 

I actually started this in November last year, and it sat nearly finished until now. It seriously took me an hour-ish to finish it. (thankfully this feeling has passed since then, but I liked the painting too much to never finish it!) I like it a lot, if you do too and you’re interested in a print please let me know :)

When that spark of creativity breaks the big art block dam and unleashes a flood of imagination and creativity and everything starts to click into place... You don’t question it and ride the wave!!

It all started with an image in my mind, the Knight of Flowers. It all snowballed and now I have 3 shiny babies and a brand new cast, in a fancy world to play with! Years of amassing worldbuilding ideas and inspiration are coming to a head. 

(also my 3 kids aren’t even properly named yet, haven’t been around for more than 5 days, have no official art yet, and somehow we already have fanart (THANK YOU SARAH <3 )

I’m working on them a bit more, and I’ll be doing some art of them soon :D

Here’s a little Seph I did last night in watercolour :) 

I had to do the inks twice, the first time I accidentally used non-waterproof pens... (I thought they were and didn’t double-check)

Just wanted to slide this WIP here, I made a lot of progress on the Flower Witch. There’s still lots to do, and I’m kinda swamped with uni homework, so not sure when I’ll finish this. Hopefully not in a year!

I saw a super cute puppy photo and I couldn't help but try to draw it! It's the first time that I tried drawing a dog and it actually looks like one!! (and not some kind of weird floppy monstrosity...) hurray!

Updates

Alright! So first off, about Inktober: while I completely failed the one drawing a day challenge, I’m still quite happy because I drew more for Inktober than I did in the whole of 2015! (that’s kinda sad...) It also rekindled my interest in traditional media, and I now have some super cool tools to help me in that area (namely, the light box and good ink pens). 

I’ve also decided to abandon the Moon drawing, I started it so long ago that I don’t paint like this anymore! And I can see too many flaws that I’d need to fix. So it will be something I will revisit later when I’ve made more improvements. 

I’ve also nearly finished a big commission project that has been going on for much longer than it should have (all my fault, that’s for sure), but it will be good to be done and not have it hang over my head like a sword. 

I’ve also updated my print shop, and I deeply appreciate any purchase made there, it warms my heart to know some of you guys want my art in your real life!! You can find it here.

I’m going to keep trying to improve, especially in terms of finishing more things, but just doing more in general. 2016 has been awful for me (and a looot of people too!) and I’m really hoping 2017 will pick up!

Another one for Inktober :) No one in particular, I was just inspired by this drawing by Denae on instagram. It was very fun to do, I’m debating adding some shading to it. I also didn’t really get the look I wanted to (the one from Denae’s drawing) but it still came out looking good.

Inktober day 15? A little break from the fanart, this is just a random character. 

I didn’t 100% accomplish what I had in mind but I’m still quite happy with it despite that. I used my dip pen for the line art, and a fine felt-tip pen for the shading.

As mentionned just before, I reworked on some of the previous drawings, and on this one I added shading and a lot of black. I think it looks a lot better! The composition is a lot clearer and the image makes more sense, I believe.

So this is the second version of my Doctor Who fanart (first one here, with context blurb), but this time using my normal felt-tip pens instead of a dip-pen. I think I like this one more, for sure. I might add some shading, but we’ll see.

Inktober-wise, I missed a few days but I’m not too fussed, I’ll keep going as best as I can :-)  Today and yesterday I touched up some of the work done and redid this one, as well.
