The idea of an olive branch as a peace offering is unique and at the surface even kind or sweet. However, if nothing actually changes and the idea of the branch is that we should both go back to living seperate lives, then nothing was actually solved.

We should move away from the idea that the offering of peace creates an alternative, because in reality it only creates a blindfold. Far more could be understood in shared experiences and talking. When we do this, we create a space where we can all sit under the olive tree and decide together.

Breaking off branches of peace makes the whole tree bare. Especially when inevitably you'll have to break more. Sit with me instead and let's talk?
