Outbreaks of a person with ADHD (and maybe a help for you when writing)
I have ADHD type 2, which is the strongest is hyperactivity and the least is attention deficit. So I come here to share with you some things that happen to people of that type.
āIām paying attention to what you say, but Iām also paying attention to whatās aroundā
It is like talking to someone and facing some details of your face, or your surroundings. It often ends up radically changing the subject but it is not purposeful, it just happens. And I lose track of what we were talking about with a slight ease.
Ā "Fake plants are curious"
Wherever I go and there are fake plants I try to guess if they are real or not. Sometimes I touch, other times I just stare for a long time until the flower appears to be a lie or a real one. Itās stupid, but it happens a lot.
Ā "Stress causes anger and tears.ā
This may be just me, but when stress hits too hard, I just get very angry and then burst into tears. And it will make me more irritated, because tears are never sad, they are just your body trying to calm you of these chaotic feelings that intensify.
Ā "Hyperfocus can changeā
My hyperfocus can last for months, or weeks, some I managed to abandon but I stuck with others. My hyper focus has been on DC, but I also continue to have something very strong with theories. Like, any kind of theory, I can talk for hours about theories in any series you think of. And I will have a very good diction on that.
Biting my nails is not pleasant, but it makes me lighter. It is like something that cannot disappear even if you really want it, it just happens. And cracking my finger bones, like, I donāt know the exact English term, but cracking my fingers is very pleasurable. Think of Kaneki doing that thing with his fingers, so, I love it so much.
Ā "Moving is too important"
Standing still for a long time is like suffocating me, itās horrible and agonizing. My body practically forces me to run, walk or dance randomly or I feel uncomfortable. Like the leg throw, which comes out of nowhere randomly, even the smallest swings leave you alone.
Figures on the wall, shadows and even little noises create an action story in our head. Itās like a really cool movie, which makes us focus our attention on it.
A beautiful conversation between tea bulies. Faces in taking with personalities or thinking of jokes very without thanks but at the same time hilarious when you simply see the name of a brand. It is not for purpose, just how it works and I end up laughing with what my head imagines.
You read so fast that you end up not paying attention to the page and you have to start over. Or speak quickly that not even others will understand what you say, even if you understand without problems. And end up eating really fast and running out of air because of it, getting a little mad about it.
Sometimes there are cycles of discouragement, which last for a while and you donāt understand why. You feel so discouraged, that even watching your favorite show feels like a sacrifice. It makes you want to sleep all day, but you just canāt do it.
Ā "Recharge and overloaded"
Sometimes when I get very charged with energy, even though I probably havenāt slept, I end up going on a side that is slightly dizzy and injured. I laugh randomly and my focus is selective, not listening to my desires, until someone extinguishes me is more likely to laugh at the wind. The worst thing is that you find it strange, because your head is like āwhatās going on ??ā and you canāt say!
Iām very embarrassed to talk about it, but I hope someone has identified themselves and it can help authors. I never identified with a character, they never had these problems. Not even characters with ADHD seem to have this, it is just very sad at a time when the representativities so high there is not a hyperactive character that I can think āI understand you knowā. The most I ever achieved was in an abusive relationship with the parents, and this is not very good k
