Guards, Take this one to M-Cap
Interesting choice of words.
Instead of saying, “Take Raven/Clarke (or even my friend) to M-Cap,” Bellamy says “Take this one.” Using a impersonal pronoun to refer to his friends serves to dehumanize them, making it easier for him to send them off to be tortured. It could only have been worse if he had used “it” instead of “this one.”
I think part of Raven and Clarke’s shock includes being referred to in this way, prompting Raven to come back with “So much for family.” It also must have stung for Clarke, for she had called him her best friend only moments earlier.
