This gave me an idea of how to make a drinking game out of The Joining.Ā
The host needs to have blue curacao (or another alcohol that is bright blue), and a bottle of the highest alcohol % they can find, preferably absinthe (archdemon, archsintheā¦ I tried). They will also need a silver chalice that can fit at least 300ml.Ā
Each recruit should be completely sober before doing this. The host can go with or stay at their house/venue while four (or groups of four) travel to their local bottle-o and each purchase a a dark spirit of their choice (mini bottles are fine).Ā
When they get back, the host prepares the drink which is as follows:
40ml Absinthe (or 10ml per person)
80ml Blue Curacao (or 20ml per person)
30ml of each Dark SpiritĀ
You can change the amounts based on alcohol tolerance, but I would say this is the responsible amount to give people as itās roughly a standard 60ml shot.
Once the mixture has been brewed, the host chants:
āJoin us, brothers and sisters.
Join us in the shadows where we stand vigilant.
Join us as we carry the duty that can not be forsworn.
And should you perish, know that your sacrifice will not be forgotten.
And that one day we shall join you.ā
The host will walk up to each recruit and hand them the chalice, saying,Ā ā[Recruitās name], step forward.ā The recruit takes a mouthful from the chalice then hands it back to the host.Ā Ā
If they donāt immediately need to eject the liquid, they are officially a Grey Warden for the night, the host can tell them āFrom this moment forth, you are a Grey Wardenā and they can try to recruit other people. They also have the Right of Conscription which allows them a sip of anyoneās drink or the entire drink.
Change it up depending on the mood and the drinkers, but I wanted to make something accurate and fun.
