You’re hating Cruella because what exactly??
I am very surprised to see so much hate towards the Cruella movie on this site. I came from seeing the movie, thinking that I would like to share gifsets and fanarts, but all I find is a bunch of childish children criticizing a movie they haven’t seen and lying about the plot to discredit it. So I have decided to explain a little about what the film is about to see if you stop with so much crying:
1- CRUELLA DOES NOT HATE DALMATIANS. Never, at any time, never ever does NOBODY say in the movie that she blames the dogs for her mother’s death. NEVER EVER OF EVER.
2- Cruella first hates herself because she feels responsible, then she understands that the Baroness is a murderer, and her hate is concentrated towards her.
3- This isn´t a story about redeeming a villain. Cruella is not evil because her mother dies, Cruella has a dark side that she fights SINCE SHE WAS A CHILD and that resurfaces when she decides to take revenge on the Baroness. Cruella understands that this dark side is part of her, accepts it and reconciles with it.
4- The film is not a prequel, but a retelling. It is a story that works by itself without the need to know the original film. That’s what makes it entertaining, fun, and interesting to watch. You can take it as an alternative universe, but the only thing it conserves from the original film are the names of the characters and small nods to children’s history, nothing more. It’s not even set in the same time period.
5- Is Cruella a good person in the movie? It couldn’t say yes. Is she a bad person? Well, at certain times yes, at others no. Cruella is a woman with ambitions who gets caught up in a plot about ego fighting and revenge. Within that plot she does things right and things wrong, but at no time does she want to kill puppies, stop lying at once.
6- When I calm down a bit I will make a comment about the things that I liked about the film but I anticipate that the dresses, the music, Emma Stone being wonderful as always and Emma Thompson absolute goddess steal the film. Plus small mention of Jasper who is my new big crush sorry not sorry
