ā¢ļ½” āæ One of her absolute favorite things about working as a counselor at the academy was the capability to decorate her spacious and cozy office however her heart may please. When she initially started, the room contained the typical furniture and minimal decorations offered by the school; alas, after saving some money and returning to the academy on various weekends when she would normally be spending her available time relaxing, she managed to create a welcoming and safe atmosphere that would certainly place the most turbulent of hearts and minds at ease. From the comfortable sofas to the plush chairs to the lovely pictures and calming quotes scattered across the walls, as well as the variety of flowers and little decorations that pieced together to encompass this homely environment. In fact, she even purchased a miniature refrigerator containing beverages between the table and chairs and her desk which, surprisingly enough, was organized and free of clutter. It was positioned nicely by one window that offered a scenic view of the landscape; though, she also ensured that one window was also free to stand at and marvel the beautiful campus. Overall, she never ceased to feel a sense of accomplishment and pride every time she entered her office; hopefully, everyone else thought the same.
āOh!ā Muffy gasped, momentarily caught off guard by the figure standing in the open doorway.Ā āI didnāt see you there. Hello!Ā ā„ How are you?ā She smiled warmly, stepping out from behind her desk to welcome them inside.Ā āPlease feel free to come inside if youād like.~ā
First order of business, of course, was unpacking. To his fortune no other students where in his dormitories upon arrival, so Klaus savored the peace of going through each piece of home he brought in privacy. He was no stranger to boarding schools, or even living in a foreign country far from his family⦠though a sudden move after senior year already began would throw anyone off. There were worse places than Harvest Academy, he supposed. Introducing himself to the counselor immediately, however, seemed a little excess. Certainly they couldāve given him a few days to settle in.Ā
But no. After his humble living quarters were put together, he took off toward the single building pointed out to him as instructed. The air outside was warm and sweet; he preferred it to the air-conditioned office he stepped into. Not that he didnāt appreciate cool in the heat, but the AC always smelled⦠heavy. And dense. Cool it may be, but far from refreshing. The name plate for Ms. Baker caught the light and Klaus was almost disappointed the room was so easy find. The door was even open, a blonde woman with her back turned to the entrance visible inside. He approached her, footsteps practiced in silence, and peeked within from the archway.Ā
It felt homey. Almost suspiciously so. Or perhaps he was just searching for any reason to remain guarded. He had no intention of opening up to this woman any more than he needed. Just a few more months and heād be back in Germany, never to see any of these people ever again. The past was the past. He didnāt want to talk about it. Or think about it. And truthfully these people felt apart of his past already.Ā
āHello,ā he said, a thin smile lifting his face as the woman turned around. āMy name is Fredrick Klaus Faust. Please, call me Klaus.ā Honey eyes fell on the timepiece, his eyebrows quirking as he realized how early in the day it still was. He arrived not an hour ago. āI was told to come here after unpacking, though it seems Iām more efficient than anticipated.ā
