YES, IT DOES AFFECT YOU

If net neutrality is repealed, then this gives corporations in charge of the pipes of the internet the power to charge you more for some sites, make it harder for you to get to some sites, or slow down access to some sites. If someone in charge is homophobic??? They could cut ur access to LGBTQ+ sites. If someone in charge supports the alt right??? They could make it harder for you to find progressive or even unbiased news sources. Don’t care about any of this??? They can charge more for some websites like YouTube, Netflix, heck, even PornHub. Now I know what your thinking. “Well what the hell can I, a singular person do?” WRITE YOUT CONGRESSMEN. CALL THEM. EMAIL THEM. SPAM THE LIVING FUCK OUT OF THEM. Last week, 19 towns across Colorado voted to allow the exploration of creating a local, public alternative to expensive private providers.

Fort Collins voters went the furthest, passing a measure to finance an assessment of starting a city-owned broadband utility, which would aim to provide faster service at a cheaper price. That means residents could have a say in whether a new public network maintains the principle of net neutrality, whatever the FCC decides in the future.
