Back in Paris, breakfast and getting up earlier than ten was not the norm for her. Usually she was so worked out during the day that she slept right through the mornings more than a couple times a week. But this was different; Aurora had been in New York for a couple weeks now on a semi-break from all her work with her fashion label and she had barely stopped smiling since she got there. She had been almost blissed out the the peace that swept over her the moment her plain touched down, not once had she been bugged with the noise of the fashion industryâŠother than the occasional call to smooth out details for upcoming fashion shows that will kick off her summer collection. She was also staying with Aiden, which added to this bliss that was coursing through her body. She hadnât seen him in, well, too long and the first week she was there she would not leave him alone. There was not enough time to catch up on all the weeks they missed together. She insisted on having her own room during her extended visit, but three weeks later the room that was to be hers had barely been touched. The very first night she found herself sprawled out on Aidenâs bed as they shared a bag of gummy bears and thatâs where she stayed.  Â
Aurora frowned as she pulled the last pieces of toast from the toaster and sighed. Her high hopes of surprising Aiden with a homemade breakfast were slowly looking helpless. She was just as clumsy in the kitchen as she was three years ago. She split the pieces of toast between the two plate on the counter and stepped back to look at what she had made. She silently groaned as she stared at the half burnt pieces of toast and the overcooked bacon. The eggs were the only thing she knew how to cook properly, although scrambled werenât the most fancy or romantic style. She tried frying the eggs, but she figured out that she couldnât flip an egg if it was worth her life. Reluctantly, she scooped up the plates and hurried out of the kitchen, placing them on the dinning room table with the rest of the breakfast necessities like butter and jelly for the toast and two large glasses of orange juice. No sooner than she had left the plates on the table, she was flying across the loft to go wake up Aiden. When she reached Aidenâs room she creaked the door open and tiptoed into the room as silently as she could. By the time she made it to the bed, she giggled unable to contain herself as the thumped down on the mattress and began bouncing on it. âAideeennn,â She sing-songed. âIf you donât wake up breakfast is going to get cold. Although, I hardly doubt you can call it breakfast. And Iâm just warning you ahead of time, no I am not trying to kill you.â
Starting your own business had proved to be nothing but stressful for Aiden. If his time wasnât divided between clients then it was in his new building trying to get the blueprints right or changing things as construction went on all around him. The only fresh air Aiden had had during these last few weeks of complete craziness was the fact that Aurora was in town from Paris. The two had begun seeing each other not long after they had graduated and though it was hard with the distance, Aiden was willing to work at it because finally he was getting his dream woman. The girl he had pined for throughout all the relationships he had had in college. The first week after her arrival, Aiden had barely been at work. Physically, he had gone but mentally he was with Aurora whether it be on the phone or dragging her along with him. And sleeping with her, in the sense that they were actually sleeping, in the same bed was amazing. He loved waking up with her in his arms. Her face being the first thing he saw in the morning made all his days even better.
It was a weekend. Aiden had made it a point that he and his employees had the weekends off. At least for now while the offices were being built so after a night of talking with Aurora, he had fallen out from exhaustion. He had been enjoying a wonderful dream when all of a sudden he heard her familiar voice ringing somewhere far away. âBaby,â he mumbled out in his sleep as he groaned and turned his body to bury his head in the pillow. He thought maybe he as still dreaming and all he wanted to do was sleep. However, she had different plans as the bed shook underneath him and he let out another sleepy groan. Turning his head up at her as his eyes slowly opened and he looked towards her. âWhy didnât you just make it breakfast in bed? I donât wanna get up.â He whined as he turned his body completely towards her and buried his head in her lap with another groan. âIf I get up now then can you and I spend the entire day in bed? Iâm too tired to leave the apartment today and I feel like we havenât gotten any alone time lately.  I miss you.â He cooed as he looked up at her and leaned forward to kiss the inside of her arm softly.
