“We don’t want them getting too riled up. We only kill the ones that are actual problems. Stupidity’s annoying, but it’s not worth the trouble.”

“Remind me why we can’t just kill the stupid ones? I mean, I doubt anyone would miss them..”
“We don’t want them getting too riled up. We only kill the ones that are actual problems. Stupidity’s annoying, but it’s not worth the trouble.”
emilyypark:
“A man was just telling me the other day how I must not be very good at my job, because I wouldn’t give him supplies for free. Said he didn’t trust me to hold up my end of the bargain if he gave me his soul, but I mean, they aren’t supposed to trust us. We’re demons.”
“What a fucking idiot. They all want shit for free, and when I actually offer it to them, getting the mark is suddenly ‘too much.’ Like, seriously, what do they expect?”
emilyypark:
“Their sense of self importance is grossly exaggerated. And they all think that they deserve something for nothing.”
“Seriously, they say my ego’s big, but most humans’ blow it out of the water.”
jorgeatthebar:
Jorge took a step back, looking at the man hesitantly. “Not…. then who the hell are you? Explain.” He couldn’t say he wasn’t worried about Aiden. He was. And often. This didn’t help get rid of that worry.
“Depends who you ask,” Lucifer shrugged. He’d had a ton of different names over the years. “Lucifer, Satan, the Devil. Call me whatever you like.”
emilyypark:
“Ugh, humans..”
“Tell me about it.”
rwojciechowska:
“He knew. He knew the whole time and he did not share once with me.”
“That’s so fucked up.”
baelandbrimstone:
Bael chuckled but let that subject drop without commenting on it anymore. He figured that was best in case Lucifer actually did decide to stick him with that horrible job. He nodded. “Obviously. I’ll let you know when I’ve actually infiltrated. I’m still working on that point, but I have an in.” Milo seemed like the kind who would have connections to the resistance if he wasn’t actually part of it. Bael figured it was probably time he broached that subject since Milo lived with him now.
“Good,” Lucifer nodded. Jesus, why couldn’t all his employees take initiative like Bael? It would save him so many headaches. “You know, even with that going on, you’ll probably still get more souls than some of the other demons. Letha’s got a grand total of two since they got to town.”
rwojciechowska:
“Someone shot him and he died. Five years ago.” She paused, not sure if she was going to throw her friend under the bus. “Krzys.”
“Roza, I’m so sorry.” He was a little surprised to find he meant it; he knew (through Aiden) how much her brother meant to her. This had to be beyond hard. “Chris knew?” Lucifer was careful to use the Americanized version of Krzysztof’s name, knowing that Aiden would be unable to pronounce the man’s real name.
“I just want to sleep forever.”
“I think they call that dying.”
rwojciechowska:
“He was shot.”
“Someone shot him?” Lucifer was surprised; there was nothing in Aiden’s memories to suggest that Tomasz had died instead of Departed. “Who lied to you about it?”
rwojciechowska:
“Tomasz is dead. He did not Depart.”
“What? How? When?”
rwojciechowska:
“If I am honest, no.”
“Hey, c’mere.”
“What’s wrong?”
rwojciechowska:
“I just do not believe that I was lied to for so very long.”
“Roza? Are you okay?”
l-etha:
“Of course. I’m sorry.”
“Whatever. Don’t let it happen again.”
l-etha:
“… Alright.”
“Glad we came to an agreement.”
l-etha:
“I don’t have that in me. I’m not like you, or Brand, or any other demon. I can’t just kill people.”
“You seem to think you have an abundance of options here, so I’m going to try to dumb it down for you: you don’t. You can get over your bullshit and keep up your lousy excuse for work here, or you can cease to exist. There is no option C.”
l-etha:
“Please, don’t delete me. But I can’t stay. I really can’t. I can’t go through the pain again.”
“So next time he comes at you, just kill him, It’s not hard.”
