Authorâs Note: A short drabble that happened in the flashback of High School Story Book 2, specifically when the HSSÂ characters bring their pets to school. Hope you enjoy!
Summary: So after that incident where the snake was on the loose, our little gang decided to hang out after school and brought along their little critters to play with. And thereâs one little furry friend that sparks the interests one person in the groupâŚ
âUmâŚI donât think I canâŚâ
âDonât worry. I promise he wonât bite.â
As she said this, Theresa gently grabbed Aidenâs hand, roughed from playing his instruments and composing his music, and placed her adorable, fluffy, little orange hamster on his palm. The dark hair musician tensed at the sight of orange rodent on the palm of his hand, fearing that it would bite his finger off in a snap.
But after seeing Theresaâs hamster looking around and sniffing his hand in curiosity, Aiden relaxed a little, finding this little guy quite cute. Even when he started nibbling on his fingers. Plus, the way he felt Theresaâs soft, warm hand holding his underneath made this even more comfortable and safe.
Theresaâs stared at Aiden with her eyes sparked in curiosity. âWell?â
âHeâsâŚquite interesting,â he replied.
âInteresting?â The blonde hair repeated in questions before forming a mischievous smile on her face, âCâmon Aiden. Be honest. Snowball happens to be the most, adorable thing youâve ever seen and now you like him.â
Aidenâs face flushed at her statement and coughed a little, trying to change the subject. âAnyway, itâs quite strange you would name your hamster âSnowballâ, despite his fur color.â
âI get that a lot from the others. My dad, too especially,â Theresa answered. She reached out to grab Snowball from Aiden before giving out a sad smile, âThis little guy isnât the first hamster I got. I used to have another hamster when I was still in elementary school. A little after my parents separated, my dad gave me a white-grayish hamster as both a birthday gift and a way to cheer me up and I immediately fell in love with my first hamster. He died of old age sometime after that.â
âOh, Iâm sorry to hear that,â Aiden said, replying to the last part before looking back at the orange hamster, who is resting on Theresaâs hands, âBut your dad is really a nice guy. It was thoughtful of him to give you a pet like this one.â
âIt is. My dad can be annoying sometimes, but I do love him for all the things he did for me,â Theresa agreed, âSo you never really have a pet of your own?â
The dark hair musician shook his head, âItâs not that I donât like them, but Iâm honestly not much of an animal person. You could tell from that snake incident, I supposed. And the last time we have the Bring Your Pets to School Day, Myraâs lobsterâŚlobster of all the animals⌠nearly took my fingers off!â
ââŚOh yeah. He did that to me, too,â Theresa grimaced, remembering the first time Myra introduced the former to her lobster as well as revealing the pun behind the name Santa Claws. She then smiled when she saw Aiden petting Snowball with two of his fingers, âSo does my little hamster spark any interest in you into having a pet?â
âI wouldnât count on it,â Aiden replied, but smiled at the orange hamster, âBut I do admit he isnât so bad.â
Theresa could see a slight smile from Aiden as he continued petting her hamster. After playing with Snowball for a little longer, Theresa glanced at Myra, who was in the middle of showing Emma her lobster.
âHey, Myra. Did your cousin find his rat, yet?â she asked the young brunette.
Myra shook her head with a frown on her face, âNope. Iâm afraid not. Nishan has desperately been searching the whole school for Einstein for the past few hours already after that snake incident. I donât think weâll be able to find him, soon.â
Both Theresa and Aiden glanced at each other, eyes widened in alarm as the realization hit them.
âYou donât thinkâŚâ Aiden trailed off, connecting two and two together.
âYes. Yes, I think so, too,â Theresa whispered.
âShould we tell her?â
ââŚNo. I think itâs best if they donât know.â
