India has the largest, youngest population in the world. But it is also the most unemployable population.

According to a survey conducted by FICCI-Ernst & Young Paper, even though over 40 million people are registered in employment exchanges, only 0.2 million get jobs annually. Even startling is the fact that about 80% of the Indian workforce does not possess identifiable marketable skills. The survey found that only 25% of the Indian professionals are considered “employable” by multinationals and the difficulty of employers in India to fill job vacancies has increased to 67% in 2013 compared with 16% in 2012. There are available jobs. There is available you. What is a Model United Nations?  Model United Nations is an authentic simulation of the U.N. General Assembly and other multilateral bodies. MUN is a conference similar to the United Nations in which students participate as delegates to various UN Committees. Participants research and formulate political positions based on the actual countries.

MUN, is an extra-curricular activity in which students typically role play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. This activity takes place at MUN conferences, which is usually organized by a high school or college MUN club. At the end of most conferences, outstanding delegates in each committee are recognized and given an award certificate; the Best Delegate in each committee, however, receives a gavel. Thousands of middle school, high school, and college students across the country and around the world participate in Model United Nations, which involves substantial researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

At a Model United Nations Conference, delegates gain insight into the workings of the United Nations and the dynamics of international relations by assuming the roles of UN representatives and members of other international bodies and national cabinets. HMUN is an exciting opportunity for students to debate issues that confront world leaders and to draft resolutions in response to these global issues. Participants develop their abilities to work with others who are equally motivated and passionate about the topics of debate and to respond to global concerns.

Why should one do MUN?

1. It’s a fun way of learning about the world. In this era of globalization, being globally aware is more important than ever. Also, having fun makes it easier to learn something and more likely to stick. 2. It develops leadership skills. MUN is an exercise in research, public speaking, and teamwork. These are skills that you will need throughout your career, and MUN gives you a chance to practice them while you’re a student. 3. You can leverage your MUN experience and network to get into college and find jobs. Admissions officers and job interviewers look for examples of leadership, and your experiences as a delegate of conference organizer will be good examples. You will also develop a network of alumni from your UN club and people you’ve met at conferences.

What is AIESEC?

Tens of thousands of students and fresh graduates each year in over 113 countries manage an organization that facilitates a huge number of international exchanges. These exchanges have an aim to provide young people with an experience that helps them understand cultures other than their own.

We believe that being a part of this global community, taking these management and leadership opportunities and having a chance to learn and question our roles in the society gives us, as AIESECers, a bit of power and direction in becoming agents of change and equips them with skills that can bring about a positive impact in society.

A.I.E.S.E.C. was originally an acronym for Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales. AIESEC is no longer used as an acronym but simply as the name of the organization.

AIESEC was founded way back in 1948 in 7 countries in Europe. Now, more than 60 years later we’re present in over 113 countries and territories, and are still growing.

Since its foundation, AIESEC has been entirely youth-led. Every single year, new leadership teams are elected from the membership at every level of the international association.

We have over 1,000,000 alumni who’ve been through an ‘AIESEC Experience’, many of whom have gone on to do incredible things. Our alumni include leaders within business, global politicians and even a Nobel Peace Laureate.
