My King.
My Lord of the Rings stationary set for SDCC and Lightbox Expo! Cozy hobbit themed sticker sheets, mini prints, sticky notes, as well as a Fellowship washi tape! I'm so happy with how they turned out!

I wanted to clarify and acknowledge some comments/questions regarding the inspiration for this piece.
Regarding the style, it is inspired by iconic editorial and comic illustration styles from the 1950s. Some notable artists from that era are couture artist René Gruau, comic artist Al Williamson, illustrator Joe Bowler, and lots more. The use of bold red colour, strong blacks, as well as the pose and expressions are directly inspired by art of that period. Some examples below!
Regarding the "Veil" series that some people have mentioned. I was not familiar with the work of the artist Kotteri prior to my drawing, but I can definitely see where people are coming from regarding the commonalities. The artist's work is beautiful and I'm flattered by the comparison, however, it is not a direct reference for my piece—I believe the similarities are due to it coming from the same point of inspiration which is this time period of art.
The idea for the retro-inspired artwork started because I had done a vintage portrait edit of my MC, the styling and makeup was actually inspired by Audrey Hepburn. That was essentially the kick-off of my obsession (for lack of a better word) for Sylus/MC and this time period. I really wanted to draw something to reflect that.
Anyway, I wanted to say that I really appreciate those that were respectful with their questions, it's a very valid one and I hope this answers them!
