firm believer that if suho died instead of going into a coma, sieun would’ve killed himself. if not directly then indirectly— walking into a fight he knows he can’t win, not paying attention to traffic, so on. whilst i think suho if the roles were reversed would make sure to stay alive. to him, living without sieun (living with the guilt) would be penance. also to look over his halmeoni bc he can’t fail at protecting two people. it’s strange to think that his staying alive would be a form of self harm. for sieun his whole life has felt like penance for a crime he didn’t commit and losing suho would be the final straw. the reason sieun stayed alive was bc he had to be there when (if) suho woke up bc all he ever wanted was to stay by him, like a knight in front of sleeping beauty’s tower— willing to wait a hundred years.

i'm so heartbroken to share that the weak hero community has lost the loveliest, sweetest soul. mai, also know as Sonic_roses on ao3, passed away on the 17th of may.

if you are active in the fandom, particularly the shse fandom and regularly read shse fics on ao3, you might have read her works before. i don't even know where to begin describing her writing. it has moved me, my heart and soul so immensely, that i just know the emotions i felt while reading them will stay with me forever.

i'll save my tribute to her in another post, as i would like to bring attention to her gofundme. if you could share and donate to help cover her funeral expenses, that would mean the world to me. sending so much love and condolences to her family and friends who are going through an unimaginably difficult time.

apparently, we missed out on sieun laying his head on suho's bed in the hospital, so i drew it ^^

There are truly so many scenes in Weak Hero that I love, but I always find myself coming back to this scene of Sieun and Suho.

Just yesterday, Sieun broke the nose of a classmate and stabbed another in the hand with a pen, and then proceeded to attack Suho when he tried to intervene. Despite this, Suho is the one to reach out first when he sees Sieun on the bus. All friendly like, making his little joke about them being lovers in a past life, as if that fight didn't happen just yesterday. And Sieun, who we know loves to ignore people when he doesn't want to talk, answers Suho's questions, even if it might draw some attention to him since he has to speak loudly for the other to hear.

Then there's this little pause here where Suho just smiles kind of expectantly at Sieun (which kills me btw it's so cute).

Then, back to Sieun looking a bit nervous, but clearly wanting to say something. His apology for yesterday, and he does! And Suho quickly accepts it with the request that Sieun treat him to a meal sometime. No anger present anywhere in his expression, and then he's off after saying good bye and shooting a little finger heart at Sieun.

It's such a cute little scene that shows that Suho knows that Sieun is not a violent person, at least that he doesn't want to be. And because he knows this, he also knows that Sieun feels bad about attacking him, so instead of taking it personally and avoiding Sieun, he reaches out. Lets Sieun know "Hey, I know you were having a bad day and I know you didn't mean to hurt me." I think the pause there was him making the space for Sieun to say something, whether it be the apology or anything really. And he keeps it lighthearted, swiftly taking in the apology with a promise of future interaction if Sieun wanted there to be, and I LOVE that he leaves that choice up to Sieun.

Something I really love about Suho is the way he's a very good combination of pushy and patient with Sieun. He knows where he should push a boundary vs where he needs to take a step back.

I'm just rambling here really, but ugh, I love these two so much.
