He took the fork and shoved the potato in his mouth. He was getting better at chewing before he swallowed, at least.

“Because it’s been so long,” he said when he handed the fork back to Minho for ano- ther bite. “How can we have missed some- thing for this long?”

Because it’s been so long. It had been two years, and Minho still hadn’t given up. At least, not completely, and he hadn’t told Newt about his  doubts. Newt was the one person that held them all together, and kept them believing. And if he lost his faith, where would they be?

“I’m not sure. Maybe it’s not something as obvious  as finding a way out. Maybe it’s got something to do with the way the maze moves. We haven’t figured it out yet, but we will.”

“In the kitchen and with some plants, huh? Sounds like you should be a runner.” He said, beaming. Then shook his head. No one wanted to be a runner, really. “I’ll put a word in with Frypan, but he’s pretty much got the kitchen handled, but everyone can use some help out in the fields, so you’ll probably get stuck out there.”
