I love it so much! My characters look beautiful, the cat is adorable, and the hotel is stunning. I especially love the windows. I can't wait to get these printed out as bookmarks.

I have exciting news for everyone, the release date of this book has been moved sooner, from October to August 27, 2026. With A Necromancer's Guide to Arranged Marriages releasing tomorrow, it will be an exciting summer for me.

That beloved would probably be fucked unless they have a shadow that can eat it, since goats eat almost every plant without issue.

All beloved songs in Paradisus! Although I suspect the official national anthem was picked earlier in history. It can't have been about the revolutionary war because England said good riddance to the colonies.

Can a Mockingbird shadow mimic powers or only appearances? Can an Octopus shadow? One is a sound mimic, the other is a visual mimic.

Only appearances because the name is based off that, and because to copy a yandere's magic would require feeling their love. This is still an incredible ability.

Yup that is another animal with a fantasy form, like the bearded dragon. And it sounds like one of strongest powers.

He was never lovers with the yanderes trying to raise flags with him against his will and the best way to leave a yandere is to never start dating a yandere.

Yes, The Purgatory Hotel for Wayward Ghosts will be sold in print in the US too, it's just lagging behind the British release by a few months because the publisher is British. I'm not sure about other countries.

I always appreciate word of mouth recommendations to friends. You can also ask your local library to buy it, most libraries have a form for people to give recommendations of books they want.

Does declawing a shadow affect the yandere in any way?

They can't be declawed. They would melt into shadow first. If it happened anyway, all their injuries heal as long as the user lives.

Are Paradisusians, on average, pretty good at animal and plant identification? Also, I imagine their biology programs must be pretty good, albeit specialized because of people wanting to study their own/their beloveds shadow or plant.

Yes, it's taught in detail at schools. Identifying an enemy's power would be a matter of life or death.

movie/play where yan and protagonist fight, protagonist is supposed to be dragged off set

yan is actually a real yandere and disguised their way in, only protagonist ACTOR realises this, has to actually fight for their life/freedom while everyone else just thinks theyre improvising really well. Huh those are weirdly high tech fake-magic props! Man they must really be going high budget for this scene, are those actual weapons?

I was wondering about how Yanderes would affect media in and outside on Paradisius and this came out

A movie idea for a Thriller

A group of friends end up renting a villa far from everything for cheap for a vacation because of a "last minute annulation" one of the friends managed to find.

They get confortable but the first night the friend who found the villa in the first place is found dead, clearly killed by a yandere plant.

The surviving friends quickly figure out they are targeted by a yandere, and that one of them is a Beloved but they don't know who.

The movie continue with the friend group slowly getting killed until only the Beloved is left.

Either Beloved manage to kill the yandere (if the movie is made in normal countries) or gets vaulted in the villa (if it's in Paradisius)

A Paradisius comedy where mutual yanderes who hide their feelings keep trying to vault each other, not realising the other is also yandere for them. The comedy coming from their plans that keep backfiring.

How many movies exist of people going to Paradisius to free a loved one who was kidnapped as a Beloved ? Just the standard action movie to rescue their kid/sibling/lover except they have to deal with a superpowered lunatic that might want to eat the legs of the person they want to save...

I could also imagine movies where a Beloved has to deal with their childhood friend who got deported after their powers showed up, and whose obsession with Beloved as kids being what got them found out as a Yan in the first place

These are all fabulous ideas! Accepted into canon, these are all popular tropes. Of course the ending depends on where they are made.

Hollywood movies don't tend to be popular outside Paradisus because of the yandere wins endings. Paris is the movie capital of the western world.

how rare is mutual parent-child yandere?? is parental yandere more or less likely to be returned than romantic yandere or other types of platonic yandere?? it'd be cute to see a parent-child mutual yandere duo in your works someday.

Rare but not impossible! Parental yandere is indeed less likely to be returned, mainly because children usually go through a rebellious stage and because a lot of parental yanderes are so overprotective or controlling that ultimately they smother the kid. A parental yandere willing to give the child more independence would be more likely to get a mutual yandere dynamic.
