I love it so much! My characters look beautiful, the cat is adorable, and the hotel is stunning. I especially love the windows. I can't wait to get these printed out as bookmarks.

I have exciting news for everyone, the release date of this book has been moved sooner, from October to August 27, 2026. With A Necromancer's Guide to Getting Kidnapped releasing tomorrow, it will be an exciting summer for me.

I was wondering about how Yanderes would affect media in and outside on Paradisius and this came out

A movie idea for a Thriller

A group of friends end up renting a villa far from everything for cheap for a vacation because of a "last minute annulation" one of the friends managed to find.

They get confortable but the first night the friend who found the villa in the first place is found dead, clearly killed by a yandere plant.

The surviving friends quickly figure out they are targeted by a yandere, and that one of them is a Beloved but they don't know who.

The movie continue with the friend group slowly getting killed until only the Beloved is left.

Either Beloved manage to kill the yandere (if the movie is made in normal countries) or gets vaulted in the villa (if it's in Paradisius)

A Paradisius comedy where mutual yanderes who hide their feelings keep trying to vault each other, not realising the other is also yandere for them. The comedy coming from their plans that keep backfiring.

How many movies exist of people going to Paradisius to free a loved one who was kidnapped as a Beloved ? Just the standard action movie to rescue their kid/sibling/lover except they have to deal with a superpowered lunatic that might want to eat the legs of the person they want to save...

I could also imagine movies where a Beloved has to deal with their childhood friend who got deported after their powers showed up, and whose obsession with Beloved as kids being what got them found out as a Yan in the first place

These are all fabulous ideas! Accepted into canon, these are all popular tropes. Of course the ending depends on where they are made.

Hollywood movies don't tend to be popular outside Paradisus because of the yandere wins endings. Paris is the movie capital of the western world.

how rare is mutual parent-child yandere?? is parental yandere more or less likely to be returned than romantic yandere or other types of platonic yandere?? it'd be cute to see a parent-child mutual yandere duo in your works someday.

Rare but not impossible! Parental yandere is indeed less likely to be returned, mainly because children usually go through a rebellious stage and because a lot of parental yanderes are so overprotective or controlling that ultimately they smother the kid. A parental yandere willing to give the child more independence would be more likely to get a mutual yandere dynamic.

If shadow animals are dark and I think you said that they dont produce dna then how do people know what their animal specifically is if it isn't too obvious.

They don't, that's the fun of it. Often they can only figure it out by what power of name their shadow possesses.

what are the intricacies of yandere on yandere discrimination?? how does it pair with the general paradisusian policy of not getting on a yandere's bad side if you can help it??

you've drawn a parallel with platonic yandere discrimination and queerphobia, but i can't imagine the former getting as extreme as the latter does irl. after all, invalidating or, worse, getting in the way of a yandere's obsession has historically never turned out well for anyone. in that way, romantic yanderes would be forced to at least acknowledge platonic obsessions as real to avoid a very stupid and painful death, no??

You're correct on all counts! Platonic yanderes deal with social stigma but not more, and it's precisely because a yandere's obsession is too dangerous to mess with. The law does not discriminate, all yanderes have vaulting rights.

My Official Yandere Nation Timeline!!!

(I apologise for the length in advance)

- Imitation is the Most Obsessive Form of Flattery

Takes place twenty years before ‘A Day in the Life of a Yandere Story Main Character’ when Craig is 18, since most of the other stories have either Craig or characters related to him at adult ages I’m going to assume this takes place first.

- Vault Valhalla

I highly doubt Raquel would wait very long to go to Paradisius after graduating. So this probably takes place like a few years after the last one.

- Silence is a Luxury

Sita is already a vault inspector like in Vault Valhalla but due to the connections to Trauma we carry and the presumed ages of those characters I’m going to assume it takes place after Raquel’s story.

- No Country for Green Flags

This one is one of the stories most separate from the interconnected plot (probably because it is the first and also meant to introduce the world). But during Sybil’s cameo in Tiens story it is said that she looks to be in her early twenties, she’s nearly 18 during this one so it probably takes place at least 5 years before Genes So Nice, They Made Them Twice. Could take place before or after the last one but I lean towards after

- Chain Myself to You and Swallow the Key

Has to take place after Silence is a Luxury because Rabbit/Yahui has clearly already met Felix since he’s very passionate about his dislike of abandoning beloveds

- Trauma We Carry

The first part takes place from before or during Silence is a Luxury to one or two years after. The rest of the story takes place four years after the first part and Yahui retires at the end so any past and future stories that feature him as a vault inspector will automatically take place before this one.

- Forget Me Please

Takes place partly before but mostly during A Day in the Life of a Yandere Story Main Character. Also our first actual introduction to Joel.

- A Day in the Life of a Yandere Story Main Character

Takes place twenty years after Craig’s first story. Connects to the most stories but those connections are explained under their own respective parts since they tend to take place after this one both timeline and post order wise.

- Genes So Nice, They Made Them Twice

Takes place around a couple of months after Craig’s time in Paradisius. Has a short Sybil appearance.

- The Best Revenge is Living Well (and Letting Your Enemies Destroy Themselves)

Craig has been back in Canada for a few months and there’s a reference to the end of Tiens story meaning this takes place just after that. Besides that he starts working with Joel and reconnects with his family.

- Hunting Cupid with a Shotgun

Joel mentions it’s been a month since the end of their last story. Joel retires from being a social worker and moves to Canada to be with Craig at the end because they (FINALLY!) started dating. So any stories with him still working will automatically take place before this.

Not Added (Yet)

- Juvenile Delinquent

No appearances of any previous characters so nothing to base placement of

- Welcome to Paradisius

Charizard is mentioned to be Miles social worker. He is also Joel’s senior, meaning he worked there before Joel did and it seems like he is still working in the most recent story. Thus it can currently take place anywhere in the timeline.

- When Life Gives You Lemmings, Make Lemonade

The only thing we have go of is that Sita is already a vault-inspector and has an 18 year old cousin. This makes me feel like this probably takes place somewhere in the middle of the timeline just so Sita has had a decent amount of time as an inspector already like it seems she has in this story while also having a not too extreme age-gap with Wasim; but that really depends on the structure of the family.

Btw, this was just something I did for fun because I really like your works and how interconnected they are. Might update this when more works can be added.

Yes and yes, although magic has limits and can't resurrect the dead.

Yes to petrification! But no to pretending to be a rooster or a snake, because a basilisk is born from a rooster and a snake but does not have the ability to transform into those creatures.

Paradisus banging its collective head on the wall after they welcomed a bunch of non-yandere's with superpowers (they keep getting their kidnappings interrupted by people with *eugh* morality) *eugh* heroics

They'd be so angry! This is what they get for their hospitality!

On the other hand, Paradisus does love a good enemies to lovers story.

Basically every animal has some god representative so that would make shadows too powerful.

The Purgatory Hotel for Wayward Ghosts is my most warm and comforting book. It made me happy to write it and I hope it also gives readers a good mood. Unlike my first romantasy, this book is a cozy mystery with a non-explicit romance subplot appropriate for all ages.

Can yandere plant/animal names affect them physically, beyond the use of powers? If someone had a vampire bat shadow, would they be more likely to have pale skin?

Do powers bring weaknesses or negative side affects? Would vampire bat shadow person always be hurt by sunlight, only hurt by it if they actively used that aspect of their powers (but why would they?), or would sunlight make any vampire-related powers less potent/more vulnerable?

Our vampire bat yandere can be harmed by the sun when using vampire powers, but not on a daily basis. It wouldn't affect the yandere's appearance although I bet a lot of yanderes would lean into the vampire motif. They are dramatic creatures.
