Hey guys, Airpoli team here! So we've worked really really hard on our English chat bots: Poli, Sally and Zackie, BUT delivering them to the right people is harder than we thought. Sometimes it's because we don't know the right circles, other times we just don't speak the language. Which is why we need help from all of you lovely people :) If you happen to know any English learning websites or groups (on whatever platform, e.g, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) in your country or whatever language you speak, please let us know!

Sorry for the long hibernation but I and the team at Airpoli have been busy working on something we're super excited about.

As a language learner, you probably know the secret formula of studying every day. But how many of us can keep it up before facing the lack of motivation monster and slow down or possibly even give up? This motivated us to build a learning tool on a familiar platform aka Facebook.

With a lot of coffee, we finally completed Poli Bot, our first chat bot focusing on teaching English idioms. Using simple explanations, examples and colorful illustrations, we hope to make native content more accessible for everyone!

HELP FROM FLUENT ENGLISH SPEAKERS NEEDED!!!

As language learners, we understand your struggle in finding useful and user-friendly apps to help you grasp a new language. This is why we're working on Katie, our latest chat bot, to provide fellow learners with honest and valuable feedback on their writing.

With Katie and its two predecessors, we're trying to create an effective language learning experience using the familiar Facebook Messenger interface. We've already made idioms and phrasal verbs more accessible through colorful, engaging illustrations, and now we want to do more — so we need your help.

*YOU GET TO: - Help countless people write better - Enhance your own command over the language - Build a multilingual community that can help you with your target language

*WE NEED YOU TO: - Commit at least 10 minutes daily - Correct short writings that are 200 characters and less - Complete each task within a 24 hour time frame (you will be assigned only one task at a time)

Is there a rough guess for the launch date? (I don't mean to be rude here btw, just curious)

Will a user be able to practise more than one language at a time, or will they need to focus on only one?

We just think about how to make users have their fluency in one language they are learning. To practise more than a language at a time requires lots of things, so if we found out how to, we could make it for you. :D

We don’t want to announce a wrong release date. All we want now is only making a good and useful app for users asap and then make an announcement when it’s complete.

How about Vector for his name; it means: "direction in which an airplane flies." While he's flying a balloon, it's still flight vocabulary all the same!! That or Heli (like "Helium") -evxnescos

Will you have Ainu in your languages being taught?

We are now focusing on popular languages first, and English is our first language available :D

J.R.R Tolkien's love for languages was fueled by his mom who taught him Latin, French and German at home. He then went on to be a professional philologist of ancient Germanic languages, specializing in Old English. During his career, he also picked up many other languages including Welsh, Finnish and Old Norse. His vast understanding of languages helped him create many conlangs of his own, such as Finnish morphology in Quenya or Welsh phonology in Sindarin. For Tolkien, a language can't exist without its own culture, history. Thus, he worked tirelessly to give a distinct identity to each and every of his conlangs.

I was just seeing the post that says that spanish is the fastest spoken language after japanese and I guess it depends on accents? I'm Mexican and most people I know speak really like, not slow but not fast either. While I hear people from other countries like Spain or Chile and they speak reallllly fast! So yeah, I guess it depends? It may be just the accent of the place where I live though, people say we speak "singing it"

Yea what your mother tongue may influence but we are just saying generally.
