Between having a laptop with limited storage space and Tumblr’s clunky export option, it’s been a bit of nuisance trying to save this tumblr.

But the idea of losing the images I had gather—an archive of beauty and desire—left me unsettled. After some searches, I had come across an app on the App store for $2.99 US... Tumblelog Picture Downloader, and it’s downloading everything I put up over the past two years.

The feeling of relief is palpable.

In one sense, I find it’s incredible how Tumblr has served as an archive of the erotic for so many for so years, and the terror of its deletion threat has even made it into mainstream idea, showing the extent of Tumblr’s presence in people’s private erotic lives.

I’m sure most of you today have seen your reblogs and posts flagged and Tumblr’s decision to remove all adult content.

While I won’t go into the ridiculousness of this, the nerd in me can’t help think of that turn of the millenium series that was Star Trek: Voyager. Remember when Seven of Nine was hooking up with some other Borg drone in Unimatrix Zero when the Borg Queen decided to infiltrate it so they just shut the whole thing down. Yep, the cyberspace we set up here is on its way out because of bloodless corporate culture. Apparently, resistance is futile—at least for the time being.

In any case, if you access Tumblr via a computer, you still have the chance to export your whole Tumblr and download it before the Dec. 17 deadline. It does take awhile to do and requires a bit of free dism space but if you don’t want to loose everything you’ve posted, that seems like the best option for now.
