In Pursuit of Perfection*
My current body of work is an installation-based examination of the material qualities of translucent porcelain, light, and shadow. This work is a study in modernizing tradition, utilizing the strengths and weaknesses of wheel-thrown porcelain (a traditional craft method and medium) to create work that investigates contemporary questions and sensibilities.
In Pursuit of Perfection* is BA-level graduate work, the culmination of four years of practical study at the Limerick School of Art and Design. The installation includes four curated selections - two single pieces and two grouped collections - and a video piece artistically documenting the process of the work's creation, all of which has been presented together in a darkened space lit in such a way that the work is the sole focus of the room.
Please direct any inquiries about the work to my email, found on the Contact page.
