Codependency
A piece I did in an attempt to display artistically their relationship.
I'm slowly making progress on getting all the different outfits Jadzia wears made up into references.
I put her Donquixote Clown Outfit there because chronologically it's the first outfit I have a reference for. But structurally it would've come up during Dressrosa.
Some facts about these!!!
- her hair is dyed in the first outfit. It's dyed for most of her mainline marriage. I say MAINLINE marriage because that involves the ten years between the ages of 26 and 36 that she is married to Doflamingo, actively works with him, lives with him, and participates as part of the family. AFTER the age of 36 she is in a legal limbo where she is still married to Doflamingo but not living with him. This is the eight years between 36 and Dressrosa. (Doflamingo refuses to call her his ex wife. That's his wife.)
- His Alabasta fit is the outfit he gets his debut in. He would have a silhouette debut when Dragon shows up in Lougetown but would not be properly introduced until the Alabasta Saga.
- In the Alabasta Jaya and Marineford Fits he's wearing his wedding ring on the right finger. This is because he is Eastern Orthodox. And also because the ring physically cannot be removed.
- The spider Motif in her outfits (not clown) is due to her animal correspondence being a spider. While she's not an official warlord she's heavily tied to the warlord system and therefore I gave her a spider correspondence. "Oh because she's venomous?" Wrong. Because she weaves futures, lays traps for her prey, is stealthy, and generally unassuming. It is due to her df being tied to fate and the association between spiders and weaving.
- Her Marineford outfit has bandages from being burned by Sakazuki on her left arm. The extra ring she's wearing is an engagement ring Doflamingo gave her a couple years into their marriage (because she was bought at an auction) to manipulate her. Her hair is straightened for the war. The C and L she's wearing on her jewelry are for Crocodile.
- every single outfit has heavy face makeup. All of them. And he actually has major scarring on his face you can't see.
