my portrayal of shanks is mostly headcanon based. i’m vaguely caught up the events of the manga and anime and have recently started a rewatch. i’m very excited to start writing shanks again. he flirts a lot ( and will likely flirt with your muse ) and sometimes he’s a bit of a loud mouth so if that makes you uncomfy, just let me know. i’ll reign him in

        "GIVE IT HERE," HE says as he's already reaching for the cup to bring it to his lips. one gulp and instant regret is visible on his face before the suspicious drink is immediately spit back out on the ground between his feet. that's disgusting, luffy. "even i could make better tea than that!" the contents are then thrown over his shoulder and the empty cup is shoved back towards the younger captain. “i hope you throw the rest of that shit out.” that’ll be the last time he takes a drink from you...

Despite hearing about Shanks from Luffy, the idea of meeting such a prestigious pirate left Nami nearly speechless. The key word being nearly. She can’t help herself from staring at the man. He seemed ordinary in comparison to other pirates of the prior yonkō generation, Big Mom and Kaido easily towering over him. She’s also sure Whitebeard would have had as well.

But he wasn’t ordinary at all. They were on similar paths, right?

❝ I hope you know even though Luffy likes you, we will make him the Pirate King! ❞ Nami proclaims, pointing a finger out at Shanks. She tries to fight her trembling, lips pulled in a grimace.

      “DO I HAVE SOMETHING on my face?” he asked, brows raising slightly as the yonko raised the tankard for a long sip of ale while his eyes focused on the young navigator several feet away from where he’d sat down. “you’ll burn a hole right through me if you keep staring like that.” luffy’s crew was a lot more interesting than what the papers said. and having only read what was reported of their adventures so far, his pride in the young man grew bigger with each passing day. “i don’t bite, i promise.” His signature grin spread across his face moments later, to hopefully convey that he wasn’t any kind of threat and set his cup down beside him. Just by looking at her, she seemed ready to jump out of her skin.

       “I ADMIRE YOUR DEDICATION to your captain but the last thing we’re gonna do is make it easy for you.” in what way that was, shanks wasn’t sure of yet. perhaps he wanted to see the strength of luffy’s crew for himself but that time was not now. “sounds like he talks about me a lot.”

alright crew, i'm getting used to the new laptop and i've missed writing very much so tomorrow i'm gonna get things rolling and try to reply to some of the things i owe !!! they'll be iconless until i can transfer all my rp stuff from my old hard drive but that's no biggy.

i've also got some side blogs in the works, mainly for smoker and crocodile. mayhaps bon clay... and i have think of a url for crocus as well
