“Friends are overrated” Alex replied with a small shrug “all they ever do is betray you anyway.”

Jessica knew that voice. She turned and looked down at the familiar blonde, rolling her eyes. “He wouldn’t be the first,” she said flatly. “I almost didn’t recognize you without trash in your hair, and nobody screaming in terror nearby,” she muttered, slumping down in her seat. She tapped her fingers irritably against the bar, glaring at the girl as she downed the drink. “Wow, I’m almost impressed.”
“That doesn’t surprise me” Alex replied with a small shrug, ignoring the woman’s comments, she was too drunk to deal with that at the moment. “Good for you, I need another drink” she said, clapping her hand down on the counter a few times before she got the attention of the bartender. “Look, I know she’s hot and all but if can you just do your job and flirt on your own time that would be great.”

Dinah watched with mild interest at the girl’s powers, and her mind considered what else this girl might be hiding. “Inhuman? I’ve got a friend like that.”
“So do I” Alex commented as she kept using her powers to play around with the phone.

Jeremiah had stepped away for only a moment to get her something to drink, but the second the crowd of people blocked him from her sight, the nervousness crept in. Sofia looked around the room, Jer was right, going out in public was a bad idea. Too many eyes, too many cameras. Taking a few short steps away from the crowd, Sofia then turned on her heels and went for the front door. Dodging through people, Sofia began resorting to pushing people slightly the closer she got to the door, frantic to get out. Ignoring the complaints of those she pushed aside, she made it through the door to the outside. A hand on her stomach as she took in a deep breath and moved out of the way of the entrance. “It’s fine, everything is fine.” Sofia said to herself, trying to calm her nerves.

Alex had gone outside to get some fresh air and a break from all the people inside, there was a limited amount of time she managed to spend around so many people before she needed to get away for a bit. She was just about to go inside again when someone rushed outside, “you sure you’re fine?” She asked as she looked over at the other woman.

Jessica had never been good at parties. You were supposed to dance, but she hated dancing. You were supposed to talk, but she hated people. Drinking – now that one she could do. And somehow, knowing that Daisy was out there, among the crowd somewhere, made the music and the screeching laughter and the too-fake screams a little more tolerable.
As long as she didn’t think about who else might be out there. Jessica caught a glimpse of a woman’s hand through the crowd, her nails perfectly manicured – heard someone whisper smile, and it made her turn back towards the bar. “Hey,” she called to the bartender, holding up her empty glass. He was busy flirting at the other end. “Hey, asshole, exactly how much skin do I have to show to get a goddamn refill?”
“Maybe he just doesn’t like you” Alex commented as she drowned her... well, she’d lost track of how many drinks she’d had by now. anything to dull the constant headache she had. She wondered if it would go away if she learned to control her powers completely but she’d probably need help for that and she was too stubborn to ask for anyone’s help, she’d managed everything else on her own, she’d manage this on her own too.

Dinah raised an eyebrow at that. She hadn’t paid close attention to the file on this girl because it wasn’t in her department, so she hadn’t realized the girl was metahuman or inhuman or whatever the right word was. “Nice party trick,” Dinah laughed. “Want to show me how to do that?”
“It’s not a party trick” Alex said, the pieces of the phone snapping back together as she lost focus on it. “I’m an Inhuman, I can manipulate and communicate with technology.”

Daisy nodded, letting her arm drop back to her side. “Yeah, if that’s what you want to do. Just let me know if you need anything.”
“I just have some... things to do or whatever” Alex replied, though honestly she just needed to be alone right now “I’ll talk to you later.”

Kara led them to a room with a large TV and gestured to the video game console that was a mess of cords and controllers. “I’m not sure where to start!” If she were honest, she was lucky she knew how to turn the TV on at all with how high-tech everything was in the old watchtower.
Alex looked at the mess of cords and controllers, should be easy enough. “Uh, just give me a few minutes and I’ll have it all set it up” the hacker told her as she started to sort out the mess in front of her.

Dinah nodded, suddenly remembering why the codename was familiar. The hacking incident not to long ago, which landed a girl in the CAMP program. This was that hacker. “Other things?”
Alex took her phone out of her pocket and put it on the table, making sure no one was looking she used her powers to disassemble her phone. “Other things” the hacker shrugged.

Dinah raised an eyebrow but didn’t say more about the subject. “Alright. No more questions there, I guess. Why don’t you tell me… what do you like to do with your free time besides breaking into people’s houses?”
“Nothing much, I hack things, play video games, other things” Alex shrugged, really she liked anything to do with technology.

“Well, maybe you can help me. Babs left me with all of this high tech stuff, and now I have no idea how to hook up my video games.” Kara huffed and crossed her arms. It had been more than a little stressful trying to deal with a new place without her favorite stress reliever. Add in a power ring, and… she was surprised she hadn’t made a hole in the all yet.
“Uh... sure, yeah I can do that” Alex replied with a nod, she always liked working with tech, it was relaxing and the headache her powers gave her was better when she could focus on something.

Dinah pulled into the small parking lot of the pizza parlor and parked. At the counter, she let Alex order whatever kind she wanted and then the two took a seat near the back while they waited on their order. “So, Skynet. Got a real name?”
Alex ordered a pepperoni pizza then took a seat across from Dinah at the table. “I do.”

“I’m fine” she replied as she took his phone, handing it back not long after “now you just need to add your fingerprint.”

“There’s a lot of things that pictures don’t show you, Alex. Tech can’t tell you about all of the conversations that happen behind closed doors. It doesn’t mean they’re actually good parents, and a good parent for that girl might not be a good one for you.” Daisy wrapped her arm around Alex, rubbing her back in small circles.
“Yeah, maybe” Alex replied. “Whatever” she said as she pulled away from Daisy “I should probably go do... something.”

“That’s the spirit.” She led them outside to her motorcycle and handed the girl her helmet before climbing on and gesturing for Skynet to get on the back. “Hold on tight!”
Alex took the helmet from Dinah and put it on before getting on the back of her motorcycle, holding on to the other woman.

Kara paused for a moment before a memory popped into her brain. “Wait! You’re the one who is really good with computers, right?” she asked. She remembered beginning to get into a heated argument with Alex and Gar over the hardest FPS game, and they’d never really settled the question that night.
“Yeah, you could say that” Alex replied with a small nod “well, I’m good with all technology” the hacker shrugged. “Computers are the most fun though.”
