kiissme:
It wasn’t as if it was the first time she’d be complimented by her dark, curly locks. Not as much when she was a redhead, and though she liked it, she felt like getting back to her roots so to speak. She had plenty of blokes paw at it when drunk enough, something that had irritated her to no end. And yet… The thought of the other brushing her fingers through her locks, maybe nails scratching at her scalp had sounded so damn…appealing. The mere thought of it sending pleasant little shivers through her body, a warm smile stretching across her lips. “Well… Get enough liquor in me, maybe I can let that little wish come true?” Oh, who was she kidding, really? She could be stone cold sober and she’d let it happen. Please let it happen. If there is a God, He’d let it happen.
She was glad she let Alyssa take the next round at least. A sharp contrast to her college days, even before then, scheming to get others — namely pathetic blokes — to pay for her drinks. Yet with Raina, it was something she wanted to do. Anything to spend more time with her, chuckling softly, “I can do with some food, so sharin’ an app? Definitely up for that…” It didn’t escape her the mention of keeping strength up, an almost bashful smile as her mind raced at the implications of such little words. Keep strength up for what? Her natural wickedness was bubbling up, making her laugh right out at the words panty dropper came out. “Erm, god, I got you thinkin’ I’m an innocent little lamb, it’s just…nerves, I guess. I swear it is, I’m just… This is my first time…anywhere like this, so I’m just…catchin’ my bearings, that’s all.” Something she hoped to get over, unless she wanted to bore the poor but very cute girl. “But that sounds like a good toast, I’d like that.” She listened to the other talk about her job, once again laughing at the use of flowers, “Oh, that’s brilliant, though! I wouldn’t have thought ‘bout that. God. I got lots of clients and colleagues that could use one of those fuck you bouquets, wouldn’t mind that.” When it came to Alyssa’s job, she let out a groan. “Oh, this is when you get bored. I’m… I’m a criminal lawyer. Which is just as well as my brother’s a detective, it’s sorta a joke ‘round the office, but… Yeah, not as creative or fun as yours, but…” Taking a deep breath, she gave a shrug, “I love it, though. I rarely lose, I make money off arguin’ and puttin’ down those that think they’re better than me. Winnin’ takes a whole level of unadulturated joy. It makes my ma and da proud, y’know? And I like knowin’ I’m puttin’ someone where they belong. Fight for people’s rights, making someone feel justified and safe… I love it.” She gave a shrug, a smile coming, “Am I borin’ you? Not exactly hot stuff, is it? But, there you go.”
“How much liquor is enough?” Raina questioned, a very well-manicured brow raising. Licking her lips, she tipped her head to the side. “Because I need to know just haw many drinks I gotta buy before you let me at your hair...” she teased. She’d give anything to touch it.
It was nice paying for and getting drinks paid for. Either way they drank. Either way, she got to spend time with this gorgeous creature and learn more about her. Raina was no stranger to men buying her drinks, she just often didn’t accept them simply because... men were scary. She loved women though, and felt safe and herself in their company. “I mean, just a little bit. Seem a bit on the innocent side, but that’s not anything bad...” she said, smiling. “Oh, I love these places. I just... I feel so incredibly in my own skin when I get to be in these sorts of bars. I’ll help you get your sea legs, so to speak, if you want.” She smiled slowly. “I’m pretty good at putting them together, honestly. My boss says I make pretty fuck yous and that’s all that matters.” Leaning in with interest, she smiled at her and laughed. “I bet that does feel pretty fucking good, beating them down.” Her fingers brushed Alyssa’s arm, settled there. “No. Keep going. I like the way you sound when you talk about justice. It’s sexy and beautiful.”
