lately the two males haven’t been able to spend as much time as they wished with one another, quality time, per se. the two had their own set of schedules to tend to and the only time they could sit back and relax, just plain hang around each other, be in each other’s presence was when one of the other were back from their long day at work or whatever they were tending to. it results to late night talks about… well just about anything until one or the other ends up passing out and most times, it’d be yoongi rather than taehyung.
today one would be able to call it a free day, taehyung. or so, he believed that he would be the only one out of the two to call it a free day. lucky enough for him, classes were cancelled due to some teacher trainings as well as meetings scattered around the snu campus in each of the departments. though, whether classes were canceled out not, today was going to be his free day— suppose luck was on his side this time, and oddly enough at that.
the night before he had gathered a variety of snacks as well as soda pop, free day calls for lazying around. of course, being somewhat productive he did tidy up the place, not really fond of the possible sight of the apartment being a complete utter mess because he knows, if he doesn’t tidy up before his movie day the moment the day ends and he’s about ready to retire to bed, he wouldn’t bother to even lay a single finger to clean up his mess. at least with a tidy place, the only thing he would worry about cleaning up are the crumbs from the snacks and bringing the food back into the kitchen.
and so he begins, making sure not to wake up the older, unsure of their routine for the day and wanting them to get a decent amount of sleep, knowing he stayed up longer than he should have.
a quick juggernaut down memory lane, give or take a few months before now, he wouldn’t even care about the other’s amount of sleep nor would he care at all and possibly cause a ruckus that would surely wake yoongi up. he chuckles at that, the memory anyway and shakes his head as he goes back to cleaning.
sweeping up the last of the dirt he managed to gather into the dust pan, he cranes his upper body to stand upright, his hand resting against his hip while the other props itself on top of the broom as he glances around the place being decently clean. he sighs in contentment, returning the cleaning utensils and anything else used for cleaning back to their respectful spots and cleaning himself up before moving over to the cabinets where he stashed the snacks.
once reaching the couch and plopping down onto it, snacks scattered on the coffee. he leans back, arms spread out as he just lays sits there for a moment, eyes glancing around the proximity though seeking out for nothing in particular, merely gazing around from corner to corner almost in some kind of trance or maybe he was a little tired from cleaning and not to mention the little sleep he got.
with furrowed brows, taehyung starts looking from left to right before blankly staring forward and tipping his head. where did he leave the remote last? wait, did he even watch tv yesterday, at all. who was the last?
the voice causes taehyung to shift his gaze to it, greeted by the older male waving the remote in his hand with a small grin. he was slightly baffled before nodding his head whilst utter a simple, “ah,” eyes shifting towards the clock as he narrows hues in hopes of getting a clearer view of the clock. what’s yoongi doing still here, he shouldn’t be gone about an hour ago, or so he believed he would be gone by now.
"are you reading my mind or something?" he questions as his brow quirks, his arm extending out and making a grabby hand gesture towards it with a small pout, "are you hiding something from me, like mind reading powers?" he chortles, waving his hand dismissively before returning to the former gesture, "nevermind, remote… please."
"maybe, maybe not. unless you’re just sitting there and staring at nothing but the black screen of the tv… how interesting," the older merely teases before tossing the remote though he doesn’t budge which keeps taehyung’s attention solely on him even after catching the remote.
he rolls his eyes, settling himself on the couch with a light scoff, “yeah, definitely, exactly that. because the screen without any moving pictures adds a bit to one’s imagination,” he drawls, letting out a soft fight of laughter before shifting his gaze back to yoongi’s, “calling it a free day, though can it really be considered me calling it a free day? i mean… they canceled all classes for some teacher thing, so.” he lets the word elongate before turning on the television, not really noticing yoongi inching closer before plotting down beside him onto the couch.
"call it what you want, free day means doing what you want, regardless the circumstances right?"
"right… wait, shouldn’t you be heading out or something?"
yoongi cranes his head, eyes fixing on taehyung and hums, “nah, not today.”
taehyung remains silent as he glances to yoongi from his peripheral vision only seeing yoongi’s arms stretching out to snatch the remote and flicking from channel to channel.
"having a movie marathon without me, how rude."
he has half a mind to break out into that song but decides against it, huffing as he snatches back the remote and tuning to the correct channel before scrolling through the possible movies, craning his head slightly, “i didn’t know you were going to call it a free day for yourself. so then, what movie?”
the two remain silent once questioning what movie they should watch before taehyung hands the remote to yoongi only to have yoongi return the remote back to him.
"nah, you arrived to the movie marathon late, now you pick."
"shouldn’t you pick if that’s the case?"
"no, you tomato. shh, just pick."
