Valko theme-song analysis: what does it reveal about him and his lore?
Valkoās theme is a track that oozes playfulness and is an interesting window into his personality as well as life. Letās take a look at some of the notable lyrics and see what it tells us about this character!
āI can flip from cool to savage,
A standard introduction; hints at his double life as a scientist/CEO and werewolf vigilante(?)
āBut your scent blurred all the signals, intoxicated me,
Like a new glitch in the system of the beast in meā
This is basically Valko going like this;
At meeting MC and realising that heās no longer in control. Silly boy thought he had it all figured out in life until that exact moment XD
āHowlinā for love, Iāve never felt it,
āIām howlinā for love for an enemyā
These lines establish, for one, that MC is Valās first ever crush, which propably explains why he behaves like a lovesick puppy towards her. These lines also re-establish what we saw in the trailers ā the main characterās role in her dynamic with Valko. She is NOT his prey. She is NOT some naive red riding hood; she is the hunter, and just as we saw in the trailer, Valko should fear herā¦but doesnāt.
āRight on the edge, I love to risk it,
āAnd you got me, yeah you got meā
In fact, Val is instantly captivated by her and completely shameless about it, wanting, needing MC to feel the same.
āI should follow what the elders say, but youāre locked in me.ā

šDrama alertš!! As we know, Valko has a big and tight-knit family, all of them no-doubt werewolves like him, and of course it is only natural his kind has traditions and ways of life in place that heās been taught since diapers. Perhaps the elders of his pack insisted that he finds a mate in a fellow lycanthrope, but fate played a cruel joke on him, and now his heart belongs to a woman who hunts monsters for a living.
Heās visibly poking and prodding at MCās walls, trying to get her to open up, which is a really cool switch up from dynamics with other love interests. Here, itās the guy who is hopelessly fallen and doing whatever he can to cozy up to his precious crush š¤

If itās just you and meā
Cheeky bastard is going out of his way to ignite that mischievous fire in MC and encourage her to be adventurous with him. The way Valko sees it, as long as theyāre together, nothing can go wrong.
And we do see him succeed. The MC is a gremlin towards him, play-fighting, teasing and light-heartedly "bullying" him. Itās what he likes to see ā the friction, his beloved being her authentic self; fun and colourful and rude and bossy and sassy and playful. Itās what makes their dynamic so fun ā Val isnāt interested in putting MC in her place or being in control. He loves her like this.

āYou put a spell on meā
This right here is important. Earlier in the song, during chorus, the last line is āyour lovely scent has put a spell on meā, indicating that at first, it was biologically-arranged attraction, deciding that this girl right here is his fated. But things have quickly changed. Itās no longer the scent that has him bewitched with MC, but MC herself! Heās in love with her as a person, and itās now the main reason he wants to be by her side. His adoration is real and genuine.
āEveryone knows I should be wary,
But your lovely scent has put a spell on me.ā
Once again, the hunter-wolf dynamic makes a return. He should fear the hunter, should be cautious of her putting a bullet through his skull, or beating him into the ground, but heās not thinking with his head right now ā itās all heart, and itās beating a mile an hour for the girl he should absolutely NOT wantā¦but does. And heās not interested in resisting her.
