30 Days of Character Development - Day three - Scars
There was a time when climbing the castle walls was all the rage. Aladdin would have been eleven years old at the time, and the game had become vastly popular amongst the village children. Before the feds cracked down on the activity, Aladdin thought he'd give it a shot. Now, the thing about this game was that nobody actually made it to the top. It was more about how far you could make it before your fingers cramped up or the fear of being caught rushed up upon you. There wasn't much that Aladdin feared so it was no big surprise when Al scampered up the wall. He had always been lithe but also combined with his magical skills, with no ease he passed the reigning champion's point, climbing higher and higher. Nobody knew what would happen if anyone were to be successful, not even Aladdin knew what lay for him above the 12 foot high wall. He sat upon the wall, grinning down at the other children, they grinned back. Then almost all at once, their faces fell, their attention falling upon a point over his shoulder. After taking in a lot of moustache and khaki military uniform, Aladdin had shrieked before toppling back down the wall. He hadn't broken anything, his fall had been somehow cushioned but he had still earned himself an impressive scar at the web between his thumb and his second finger. To this day he still has this scar, a small white crescent that has never seemed to disappear.
